Newbie domain name/landing page/website

I see many websites that have an affiliate program. They often ask for your website name, but, at this time, I have no web site. Moreover, even if I did, it may not be related to the program I want to promote.

I understand that even for Clickbank, you are best off with a landing page. What is the best way for a beginner to go? Should I create a "generic" domain and use sub-domains for each landing page, even if they are not related? For example, let's say I was promoting a weight loss product and a registry cleaner. Would I get a domain like "wwwMyInternetOffers.com" and use a subdomain like "weightloss.MyInternetOffers.com" and another, such as "RegistryCleaner.MyInternetOffers.com"? Or, is that a prescription for failure? Do I really need a website that is already promoting a related product? Many of them even say they need to approve it. What are they looking for.

I want to experiment with a number of different niches, but I don't want to purchase a zillion new domain names. Pleas help me on this.

The best thing to do when you are new, is to find a forum, like this one. Read and learn. You will find the best marketers and web people on the net, right here.

Then, when you feel you are ready, pick a niche, find a hosting company, buy a domain, and build your site. Then work that site until it begins to make some money.

Then start over and do it again with another niche.

Along the way, I'm sure you will have some questions. Ask them and you will find many Warriors ready to help you.

Good luck, and welcome to the forum.

Welcome to the WF Duane. When I first started this journey I purchased a domain related to something I was interested in (video).

Then I put up a simple 5 page site, added some videos from YouTube on how to produce better videos, this got my feet wet. Since I was interested in the subject it was easy and fun.

After a few weeks I was able to setup an adwords account with Google, an affiliate account with eBay, and a clickbank account.

My goal was not to make money from the site, but to learn the process. I hope this helps.

      Bob.

It doesn't have to be a website. A blog will do.

Why not set up some blogs while you're testing the waters, then go to domains for those that have good potential.

    Duanec,

Just use blogger and squidoo for making review of the products you want to promote ,write some articles and drive traffic to your bloggers and squidoo pages. It is good for testing niche.Once you find a profitable niche ,you can go and get a domain and setup your website.

if you want to get a domain name that you can use for the various things you talk about - why not get your name .com or yourname-recommends . com, something like that. then you can get an email for that domain - yourname @ yourname . com

You don't have to spend money on domain names if you use Blogger and Squidoo as stated above. Your domain will just be a part of their domain (a sub domain). RegistryCleanerReview.blogspot.com for example.

Just choose your Clickbank product. Do some keyword research. You need to find keywords with relatively high volume and relatively low competition. These will be long tail keywords. Write a few GOOD QUALITY articles and submit them to ezinearticles.com and a few other article directories. Also make at least 5 posts on your Blogger blog or 5 lenses. There are a lot of other things you could do with linking strategies, RSS feeds etc...but that should, at least, get you started.

This all, put together, is material that could be put in and ebook and solde. Because my situation is different, but there are many that have my same situation, this ebook, if created with this in mind, would probably be applealing to many people in similar situations. Anyway, thanks again.
