Created Product, Sales Page and Now What?...Please Help!

**Just wanted to give you some Info so you can provide better advice**

First, I would like to thank my fellow warriors for contributing a wealth of information. No matter how much I think I know about any subject matter....I consider myself a Student for Life.

So let's get started. I just finished my first product (DVD -2, Manual, MP3). It's related to the niche that I have served in for over 8 years. I've labored countless hours day-in and day-out and finally the light bulb came on one day in Dec. '09 about "I can package this and sell it multiple times over". After further research and a desire to find out how to go about it. I landed on this forum. And what a gift and blessing this place has been.

I understand the investment of time or money and sometimes both. I want to get to a place (like many others) to do this full time. I've dedicated all of my time away from my daily job to do this every extra minute I get. Thankfully I have enough income coming in to where I can outsource some tasks.

Here's where I am:

- Product Created
- Keyword Research Complete
- Fullfilment Company has orders ready for shipment
- Sales Page complete with shopping cart
- Currently working on-page SEO and analytics (Outsourced)
- Have two articles finished and ready for submission (Looking to outsource this and future article writing)

- What would your next step be?

- Would you recommend a landing page?

Any information will be greatly appreciated and I'll be sure to click the "Thank You" button.

To Your Contiued Success,
CC

I would be outsourcing all kinds of articles to be done for that keyword research you did. Do your articles, get your web 2.0 links, etc. Start your plan of attack for link building, hence search engine placement to get all of the free traffic.

You are definately going to want a capture page, with maybe a really sneak peak into what they are going to get on the other side, maybe a free report that they can get. Something to make them become a lead.

As far as your "on page" SEO, Im not sure that I understand...

You are trying to optimize your sales page for search engine rankings? If so, I hope that you or your copywriter are very experience because your keyword density could hurt your sales page.

I would get a capture page and start running a ppc campaign for your whole funnel.

Make sure that thing are going to perform the way that they should. In all actuality I say that because if you can't make money from paid advertising you can't make money from free advertising.

So whichever path you take just make sure that they process is converting the way that you want it to and that is turning a profit.

        Thanks Jeff for your insight.

The on-page SEO I was referrring to is Meta-tags.

What sort of keyword density is considered natural for a sales page?

Well, I'm the copywriter for now. I didn't want to procrastinate so I jumped in and got it done. I truly believe in Taking Action. -It may not be right but at least I did something instead of sitting around with my arms folded. I just PM'd you my link.

        Thanks again Jeff!!

I got a little worried by the first couple of items on your list.

Keyword research came after product created?

Was the product created on the basis of some keyword research?

How many searches a month are there for your main product keywords?
How many clicks are you likely to get in search listings (paid or organic)

You sound to be very well organised and you have obviously been working hard. The real key for you now is attracting targetted traffic. You really need to have a squeeze page with some valuable 'bait' and a means of gathering email addresses.

    You didn't mention 'autoresponder'?

Is there any room for improvement? Want to find out?

A couple of suggestions... make sure that you get an autoresponder account (Aweber) so that you can capture leads. That way you can build a list and do follow-up sales of other products. It is a lot easier to sell to the same customer multiple times than it is to get multiple prospects to buy from you once.

Additionally, if you have a product that you can "show off", video marketing will work wonders.

Hope that helps. Have a great day!

Thanks rft123 - I'll look into the video marketing immediately. What would be the difference in 1shoppingcart autoresponder versus Aweber?

        Thanks Again!!

Thanks for replying Helisell - LOL....My mantra is "Never invest and hope for the best" Always research. Things didn't exactly happen in that order - sorry. I did my keyword research and then burned alot of "midnight oil" (so to speak) to get the product completed.

I tried searching the forum but failed to find a comprehensive list that would help guide me to the next step of the process so I decided, "why not post it here."

I have 1shoppingcart. They have the autoresponder service (Premium Package). Do you have any history with using 1shoppingcart over Aweber or any other autoresponder service?

Squeeze Page it is!! I'll get to work on it now. I'm thinking of offering a little 30 sec. clip from the DVD. Would a small clip or report be more enticing? -Your thoughts?

      Thanks A Ton!!

Have you put together a longer term plan with this product?

IE: Do you have some thoughts built up around the residual income you can build up on it?

Do you have a back end offer to this first product?

Have you thought about your launch date? Do you have some prospects lined up who you can joint venture with - or will you have an affiliate program?

Adswap? Is there someone who might have a complimentary mail list who will give you a nice blast when you are ready to receive sales?

Avenuegirl - Those are some very valuable points. I've considered a Coaching Program and other ideas but nothing concrete at the moment.

It's live at the moment and ready for sales. I'm new to IM, I haven't ventured over into the Affiliate world just yet but I know there's potential and I'm really interested.

Thanks for your addition Avenuegirl!! Just PM'd you

I would definitely create a landing/squeeze page, with a compelling offer of some sort, i would outsource the article work like you are doing, but i would have 2 articles per day done. Then I would put a traffic campaign in place making sure you track what works well and what doesn't(very important)

Thanks TJ - I appreciate the specifics (2 articles per day done). I'm having a PPC campaign drafted up as I write. I'll be sure to track and keep my finger on the pulse.

      Thanks alot!!

Hey! You've got a really nice site there and I think it would be a good idea to add a link to it in your signature here.

Upon visiting the site, you definitely need an autoresponder set up to capture some names.

You can do this 2 ways. You can have a little box drop down, or swing up from the bottom that offers a free report.

The other way I noticed was when I closed your web page, there was no "wait! check this out" type message - which could say, "we want to thank you for taking the time to stop by, get this free report" type thing.

Your affiliate program can be set up independent - like you can get something like idev affiliate where you make a private program, or you can do this through clickbank as well.

As for adswaps or JV's, you'll need to do a bit of networking for this.

How would I approach it? I would find someone with a complimentary type product who has a list and contact them. I believe there is some information in the War Room about approaching these situations and those may give you some more information/insight in the direction you want to go.

Will Do Lance - Outsourced a PPC campaign and it's in the works right now as I type this.

              Thanks for your input.....

What other advice would you give about PPC? Like, what to watch out for?

The absolute first thing I would do buddy is get an autoresponder account, with whoever it is you like, personally I use aweber, set up a squeeze page, drive the heck outta traffic to that page, and start building my list.

First thing right now before anything else, I'd start getting the list built.

You could also think about putting your sales page after the squeeze page for those who sign up, etc. The possibilities are plentiful.

I know this a quick response but the writing on the wall is you need to build your list my friend. That will be the most important asset in your business in my opinion and I'm sure several others agree.

If you have a question feel free to pm me and I'll be glad to help you if you need a little assistance..

I wish you the best of luck,
