New to IM - Are these keyword values good?

Hi guys, I'm new to the forum and to IM, but I have been lurking around for a while getting some great advice from just reading this forum.

But...It's time for me to take the plunge and I was hoping that some kind persons would comment on my keyword research to see if they think this niche is worth looking at. It won't let me post links or images but here are the stats from MS.

Searches: 1332
SEOT: 559
SEOC: 155000
SEOCT: 14800
SEOCTR: 10%
SEOV: $151.05

From what I understand, this keyword might be good for keyword specific competition, given that the SEOTCR is low, is that right? Are those competition stats any good? and given the number of searches and SEOV, do you think this would be at all profitable?

As for the top 10 results in google, one of them is youtube, one is amazon and one is ehow. The on page seo is very weak across the board and all but one has less than 40 page backlinks, although PR goes from 2 - 5. Am I analysing this correctly?

I've checked for domain names and the .org is available for this specific keyword domain. There are a few amazon affiliate products and 1 or 2 clickbank and paydotcom products related to the keyword.

Do you think, given this information, that this would be a good niche for an IM newbie to try or am I totally barking up the wrong tree with this? Does it even have earning potential?

If so, what would be a good starting strategy? What I had in mind, was to create a static wordpress site which would either promote a clickbank product, or a general info site that had amazon links within it and my main focus would be on SEO. Any advice or better suggestions?

Sorry for all the questions but I need all the help I can get and I have seen that there are some very helpful and willing people on these forums.

Thanks

With out knowing the keyword it's hard to say (Don't post it of course .) Does the keyword make sense? What type of keyword is it? Why are you asking and not doing it?

Just take the plunge and spend a little cash to see if it works or not, that's the only way your know. Throw up a site, optimize it etc, link it, start getting traffic to it, your soon know.

Hi Butters, thanks for the quick reply.

Actually I realise I've made quite a grave error. I'm embarressed to say that I just went back into MS and the search for my keyword was set to a broad match not exact match which is what I thought it was when I posted the stats. It doesn't look so sweet now

My first mistake. Oh well at least it's good to get them out of the way early.

      Thanks Anyway
