Newsletter subscription confirmation email

I am in the process of setting up an offline business, and have a "brochure" site for the company. [It is an executive airport transfer company, based in the UK-We will also be doing a few executive days out..like corporate golf days etc]

We are setting up our newsletter on the site now, and I am after a bit of advice on what to put in the confirmation email.

This is what I have so far.

Thank you for subscribing to XXXXXXX discount newsletter.
We will keep you upto date with news, and events that we will be involved in over the coming months, and also any discounts available for you, or your family to use when booking transfers, and days out with us.
Many Thanks

I have replaced the company name for now with the XXXX as it is not 100% ready to start trading and the website is still under production.

Any advice on what I can put here, or what I could offer people as an incentive to sign up to the newsletter would be great.

Michael

NB: JustcarsOnline is not the company.....that is my online business.

The IP is an information no one needs.

Usually people don't know their own IP because they don't need such information. Most of the people even don't know what's an IP Telling to a subscriber what was her of his IP when she/he subscribed is a waste of space.

On the other hand, you, as a publisher, don't need this information because it's irrelevant. You cannot prove anything, if this was your intention. Within max. 1 minute I can change my IP (I'm not speaking about using proxy servers), so why do you need to know what was my IP one minute ago? I can also subscribe to your newsletter using a proxy server, so what do you gain by storing the IP that anyway is not mine?

Just a waste of space and time...

    Excellent thank you.
Anything else from a marketing point of view that I can tie in here?
