Where do you point Google AdWords Link?

I got an adwords account set up and placed my ad. I'm actually getting a few clicks, but no sales. I tried placing the ad on a home page that has general information, and then I tried directing them to my affiliate page where I am advertising the product. Still nothing.

So, my question is... is it better to just point to the main website home page that just has general information about the keyword, or to point directly to the affiliate I'm promoting... btw, the main page has a small ad on the side bar as well, a text ad...

Thanks for the suggestions!

    I"m confused. Adwords or Adsense?

You place an adwords ad. It shows up on Google, not on your website. Someone clicks in google to come to your site.

You put a link in adwords to go to the page you are promoting from the ad.

Then people either buy or they don't.

You won't get a sale for every click obviously - but get a few hundred clicks and if no one is buying you need to fix something.

Point it directly to the keyword optimized page, a review of the product and why they should get it, even it's rating from others. If you get more clicks than what the product pays, after weighing out the costs of both, then something is wrong.

I don't like to run a campaign to 1 to 2 hundred clicks with no conversion, if it doesn't convert early on then it is highly competitive and that is where you have to change things.

People use lots of strategies and will spend to dominate even without conversions to cover it because they can afford to, the best policy if you watch the funds is, take the amount the product sale pays and if the amount your adwords account charges you goes over that, before you ever make a sale, then it would be prudent to pause, change things and then try again.

      Hope that can help...
