First of all I'd like to say hi to everyone as I'm new to the forum. My name is Rob and I'm looking to earn a living online. I have £500 to use on a business venture.

If you had £500 to invest what would you do to make an income online?
#£500 #use or invest

Thanks for the list. Very interesting. I looked into article marketing a little while back but couldn't get into it. Maybe it's time to try again.

        Hi and welcome.
I don't know what is your level of knowledge. If it is not very high, I would recommend you to start by buying one of those training programs where you learn a system to apply such as Commission Blueprint. Besides, I would buy a good keyword research tool (Market Samurai can be a great choice).
Another choice, instead of Comission Blueprint, is a subscription to Traffic Ultimatum.

Whatever you do, focus on learning and getting traffic.

        Good luck!

I know a little bit about article marketing, long tail keywords, backlinking etc. It would be nice to have some sort of step by step guide though. What's better Commission Blueprint or Affilio Blueprint, or what's the easiest to use and apply?

I'm looking for something that's not too complicated and can be setup fairly quick if possible.

Keep your money in your pocket and test some things until you get something that makes some money. Then use your money to scale it.

Buy software/services in order to speed things up and make your life easier. Learn how the process works first.

Good question and something I have asked myself ... If I was starting from scratch BUT knew what I knew now .. 6 months ago.

You will get lots of different answers that will only cloud your vision more so than what it may be already.

With that said, this is how I would invest.

As I already have my path mapped out so to speak untill I perfect this strategy (affiliate marketing of physical products), I would choose the following.

I wouldnt choose a keyword tool as much as I love them.

You can do the same with google tool although it will take some time to really dig around. The money can be put to better use in my opinion but you will need to learn how to really dig around.

If you dont feel comfortable writing then I would deffinately be investing in having content written for you, there are good content writers in the WSO,s.

I would then invest in good spinning software and learn how to use it effectively for backling campaigns via articles, link wheels etc.

I wouldnt even entertain software like SEnuke UNTILL you have plenty of experience and know how the general and basic stuff works, before getting behind the wheel of something that could easily give you a car crash of an introduction.

Next, I would research and invest in article submission programs/blog networks, a few wso,s built around traffic generation that you can perform yourself. I wouldnt jump into these to hurriedly, first I would reasearch WHO is selling the wso.

That is it really for my target niches, it would be easy to go on and on but in reality, this is what I believe to be the most important.

Since you've admitted that you'll still like to have a step by step guide and in order to invest your capital wisely, I suggest you go for proper training. There is a warrior that I can recommend his training program to you having gone through it myself. His name is john and he goes by the name zeus66 on this forum.

You can use the search button to search for the quality of his postings on this warrior.

    I hope that helps.

Thanks for that. It does sound very good. Maybe just what I'm looking for.

  • If only I was part of this forum back when I started. It might of stopped me from spending thousand upon thousands of pounds on programs, ebooks and software.

I literally have an assorted amount of ebooks, programs and software on my external hard drive. Easily worth over 5 k.... Can't complain though, I have learnt what works, and what is a pile of crap from the sheer volume of products I have brought.

In the end, the methods that stood out are the non-complicated methods that you can find for free if you do abit of research on the internet. The only downside is the work that it requires.

I don't mind putting in the work, I'm just not sure where to begin. Article marketing, build websites, blogging, google adwords....there's so many options I'm not quite sure what will suit me best.

The very first thing I would do knowing what I know now is know that hosting separate accounts can swallow up a load of money, if I were to go back in time to give myself some advice I would tell myself to go to Hostgator or somewhere and use their Baby package to host unlimited domains for one low fee of $8/mo

I would have to mention to myself that it would have to be paid upfront for two years but it would allow my to have many websites all earning small bits of money and give me the opportunity to work on alternate sites when I am hitting my head against a brick wall when suffering from writers block, which I would know I get often.

    But that is just me

Seriously, getting a quality hosting package is paramount and paying upfront a little extra will repay you massively in months to come

As you don't have a lot of experience online, I would recommend that you find somebody who will train you.

£500 is a lot to just throw away if you pick the wrong thing to invest it in. (I know that from when I started online and I threw almost double that down the drain lol)

Look for proper training I say.

Whatever you do, I recommend you treat this like a proper business, ring the person up and get as much information as possible.

Assuming you're in the UK (because your money is in £'s) it would be a good idea to seek training from somebody here in the Uk. - That way you can even drive over to meet them in person if you need to.

Another idea might be to buy an established website and product which is bringing in *something* and trying to turn that into big profits.

This is actually quite a fool proof method because if it doesn't turn out as you had hoped or you just can't make it work, you can sell it on! You bought it, somebody else will.

I did exactly this. Bought an established website (sales page) and product (ebook) which was bring in only about $40/month for $500 (yes $). There was a *lot* the person was doing wrong and I could have improved on so much and definitely turned that $40 into $200 AT LEAST, then I could have sold for $2000+...BUT some massive commitments came up and I was stuck with the website...what did I do? Sold it for an extra $100.

The point is, this can give you real experience in an area you want to be an expert in: information marketing and product ownership.

    ---

Also, I would say only get into something you are truly excited about. Article marketing doesn't really excite me much so I don't do it and never could do it long-term. My only motivation would be money which doesn't really bread genuine interest. So if you don't like it, don't do it.

There are tons of ways to make money online, and I'd advise you look for something which genuinely interests you, not just something that gives you the chance to make money.

    Good luck!
    Damien.

I agree with the first poster about Market Samurai and SE Nuke, I haven't used The Best Spinner though (although I am looking at it).

HOWEVER, you have to find a good system to follow first. And that's something that's difficult to advise without knowing where your interests lie. I have bought a few WSOs (probably a few too many), some I found very inspiring and have led me in the direction I'm going in, and other's I just thought, "Interesting system...but not for me!"

It really depends on what you want to market and how you want to market it. Whenever I see a system that requires paid traffic I avoid it, because I'd rather focus on organic traffic and SEO, but that's just me. I also avoid product creation at the moment and focus on affiliate marketing. I may go down the product creation route at some stage, but it's just not what I'm interested in now.

What you WILL need is some good hosting (as somebody said, Hostgator baby package) and some money for domain names!! That's super important I made the mistake when I first started out of hosting my first couple of sites with GoDaddy, and they're both on individual hosting plans and I can't use addon domains. I also paid for hosting in advance instead of monthly, and if I hadn't done this I may just have changed hosts. I like to buy my domain names from GoDaddy DEFINITELY (as I lost a few domain names I bought with iPower because of problems with renewal, and obviously not receiving any emails to say that I needed to renew!!).

So, yeah. Have a look around the forums and work out what you really want to do with respect to IM first, and then invest in the tools that will help you get there.

Invest your hard earned cash into products that you can re-sell. Set up a squeeze page and build a list of internet marketers, add promo emails into your auto-responders and sell valuable video training on various subjects such as PPC, article marketing, social marketing, SEO, jvs etc. Don't get those cheapo products though - my membership will sort you out.

I would save your money and check out the 30 day challenge (google it). It's free, and you can get a 40-day trial of Market Samurai to boot.

After that, you can spend your money on a copy of Market Samurai (or not, if you don't like it), and of course domains and hosting.

You can spend your money to outsource people in do the work for you. Buy domains, hosting.. and lets those people you hired to do the work. Another thing, you can also do the article marketing for you. use free tools to lessen the expenses, I have easyarticlespinner.net to help me get the task done faster.

You could buy a keyword tool.. Find good keywords, outsource articles and build websites and add adsense or affliates on it. You can buy automatic link builders too.
