I did an analysis yesterday and found that although I was getting a lot of traffic from youtube the conversion was zero. Yes, for the whole year not a single one of my visitors from Youtube resulted in one conversion.

This is in contrast to thousands of conversions from Google both Adwords and organic. Also, many conversions from articles and sister sites and forums even. I thought DIGG traffic was bad, but this is the worst results ever. All that time I spent creating videos did not result in even one conversion.

For this site conversion from adwords was approx 2% and approx 0.5% for organic. This is rather low for me. However, I did not expect Youtube video traffic to be so poor.

Typically, Youtube browsers really aren't looking to buy anything. Most are just bored at home or at work, killing time - and if they find something interesting, they'll click.

Youtube + CPA can make some money, mainly because CPA marketing is done in a "ninja" style - when people go to fill out a form or whatever, it doesn't occur to most people you may be making money from it.

Directly advertising on Youtube is another story. Marketers who get sales from Youtube are promoting their product-videos to their lists - people who've already warmed up to them as prospects. If you have a list, try promoting your videos to them (provided they have helpful content and aren't flat sales pitches) and see how it goes.

Hold on here...this your YT channel, YouTube - seobro's Channel, right?

Your most current video is from 8 months ago and involves a review & comparison for 2 different cameras, and you expect the people watching that to click thru to your site and be interested in something involving SEO?

Well, you might want to consider trying something else...such as setting up an email capture landing page for anyone coming from YouTube, funnel them into an autoresponder and go from there.
