Why is my website not ranking well?

Just started a new site a couple of weeks ago (campingkitchenstore dot com) and have been building links to it a few at a time with the main keyword camping kitchen as the link text and my site keeps slipping down the rankings in google. Why is this?

    Did you SEO your site?
Build backlinks on dofllow websites with differents anchor texts?
Keep building QUALITY backlinks and write good content, it takes a lot of time and hard work to rank well in the search engines.

Looks like it could possible be the lack of content along with the amount of times you have crammed your keyword in there. Try adding more content, with cluster keywords added along with your main keyword. "Cluster" keywords are the ones that google will link your main keyword to, these will be different then the main, but relevant at the same time. Type your main keyword into google's keyword tool and see which ones best fit. I usually go about 10-15 word in and use them(just as long as they make sense and are relevant.
Sorry if this was a recap for you.. Hope it helped.

If it is any consolation, you are #1 here in Australia.

Yahoo says you only have 6 backlinks.
Start backlinking the bejeezus out of it.

Just give some more time for it to settle. It is early days for your site. Once the time catches up it will become stable. In the mean time you can add more content and slowly increase the backlinks count.

Yeh one thing when building websites, is waiting for them to rank in the search engines. Google can take ages to rank my websites sometimes. Just remember if you don't spam, and provide quality content, then you will rank high eventually.

No you're not getting it thought that skull of yours!

It usually takes weeks-months to rank a site well.

This isn't a race where you can drive a Ferrari and get to the finish line sooner than everyone else.

You're driving a regular V6 Toyota, the same car as everyone else and the projected timeframe is weeks to months.

Aloha ~ Even though you are using a WordPress format, it does not seem to me that you have done your 'on page' SEO to your best advantage.

First of all if I were searching for a camping stove or any of your other camping stuff on different pages. I would not be 'Googling" Camping Kitchen Stoves. Perhaps 'Stoves for Camping' ... well, you get my meaning, yes?

Second, when you find out what words your target market is using to search for items like yours, use it in your title tag and again in the first sentence on your site.

Third, get some more content in there. Try linking to those products with anchor links from within that copy instead of the Amazon widget.

Link those pictures direct to the product 'buy' info.

    Most of all:
