Anyone has any ideas how to attract people to your your threads? I have post some threads but with few responds... I've saw threads with over thousands views and responds! Is it something to do with the timing of posting and title? I need advise from you guys! How to you create a thread that attract readers? |

I have the same problem. Don't forget, you are in a forum full of IMers who know how draw in readers through their writing to make a sale. I think the titles of the forum have to grab people. |

1) Ask an interesting, pertinent question that preferably also has the potential to affect other readers. 2) Bring up an interesting, relevant topic for general discussion. 3) Offer a piece of relevant advice, of potential interest to other IMers. 4) Share a technique, method or resource that other IMers might find useful. 4) As far as possible, check to see if a similar thread hasn't already been discussed at length recently. 5) Change your user name to Steven Wagenheim. ![]() Frank |

1. offer to pay people money for input of some sort 2. post something like "I'm mad as hell and I just can't take it anymore" 3. mention "Frank Kern" in the title 4. use a negative frame, ie. "Why I hate Frank Kern" 5. write "the secret making lightning-fast cash with (expensive recent IM product launch lots of people here bought and aren't making money with) 6. reframe above as "here's what Frank Kern wouldn't reveal in Mass Control" |

Posts that either says you're making a lot of money or not making any seems to get a lot of views usually.. but if you want replies, ask specific questions, that's not commonly answered a million times already.. or just complain about something most ppl tend to agree with, that should start some debate and keep the thread interesting :P | |

Make your title interesting. Your subject has to be something of interest to people.

Or.... for long term. Build your leadership and friendship? People will open threads created by Steven Waganheim, Bev Clement, Paul Myers, Kevin Riley or more. For one, these people have been here for a long time and they have many friends. Friends like hearing what their friends have to say. Also since they've been in IM for sometime, they have large circles of influence that as soon as they post, more people post. Two, people who lead by example generate more responses. Andy Henry, John Yeo, Jeremy Kelsell.... these people have fewer posts than the ones I named in one example above, yet others value their posts just as well. So it'll take time. |

I'd definitely say this post itself was a lesson in how to do that. Specific questions always are a good thing. Think of the post title as the title to an article you want someone to click on. In writing, it's more fetching to have a title that looks like this: Do You Want to Get Rid of Embarrassing Pimples ASAP? rather than Get Rid of Pimples I wouldn't waste my time clicking on the second one. Posts are the same way. |

You need to talk about something that is valueable to others. When you have a compelling headline in your thread then more and more poeple will come in and read. When they see a lot of posts in one single thread, they will be interested to see what the conversations are all about. You can have 2 threads. 1 can attract a lot of readers and posters and the other can do the opposite. Tal |

The main idea of posting on a forum isn't to promote your website, but to interact in the thread and with the main discussion topics of interest to members there. In other words, unless you are replying to a thread that asks about something you sell, where you are given an opportunity to market your site, it's not a primary focus in posts at all, or rather shouldn’t be. Note, too, some threads have different momentum at different times. There’s no surefire way to get long threads going. Just enjoy the forum.
