Do you know an alternative to Lycos 50?

This is my first on the WarriorForum.
I am reading Google Cash by Chris Carpenter, and he recommends using Lycos 50 to follow current trends as one method of finding profitable affiliate opportunities.
I think it's a good idea, but the problem is that he recommends Lycos 50 as a trend analysis tool, and it does not seem to be operational anymore.
Does anyone know any other trend analysis tools?
