will the forum delete me if i ask some
warriors for donations for my friend . i would go into detail but dont want to get deleted. but my school and friends have been trying to get people to give .5 cents to a dollars for the flood victims in nashville my bestfriend was one of them and I am just trying to help .I know you guys are caring so i was just wondering if i would get deleted

    Place a link in your signature. As for making posts that ask for money... I am against it. I live in Hurricane Katrina-land, so I know about flooding and devastation. I'm sure that your cause is a good one, but aren't they all?

      Your heart may be in the right place, but with the number of people on this forum (90% of whom you almost never see posting), allowing what you propose would open a different kind of flood gate.

      Once the flood starts, then the mods have to start drawing lines over which cause is worth leaving a thread up and which ones are not, and no good can come of that - especially for said mods.

      On a side note, one piece of advice given to lottery jackpot winners is to get a post office box and hire someone to sort their mail, because they are going to hear from every charity and hard-luck case in the world asking them to share their lucky break.

      Allowing fund raising posts like you propose would have the same effect, and would pretty much kill this forum. Like the other poster said, if you want to put a request in your sig and link it to a donation page, you're fine.

      Hope this helps explain things a little...

      PS- I hope you find the missing shift key for your keyboard...
