Stamped Self Addressed envelope for a different country?

I'm in Austaralia, and I need to deliver a package to the UK, and with it I need to include a stamped, self addressed envelope to send it back to me.

Does anyone know how this works?

Can I put Aussie stamps on the one going from the UK to Aus? Or do I somehow have to get myself some UK stamps?

I know this sounds off-topic, but it IS a business related question

    Hi Sam,

    I don't think Aussie stamps would be accepted on outgoing mail here...

    Here's a link to the royal mail's site - they (used to) run a service where you pre-pay postage and print a label/or directly onto your envelope.

        I don't know if international customers can set up an account, as I've not tried the sign up process - but I don't see why not.

          That's a good point, I hadn't tried to actually buy yet. Like you said, they should be fine with it.

          If not I'll just go annoy the dear ladies at my local post office and see if they have a way of doing it.

          Surely it's a reasonably common thing to do?

            From memory, there's a service called an International Reply Coupon - you include that in the package and your customer exchanges that for return postage at their end.

                Sending an International Reply Coupon with your mailing means the recipient can reply to you for free or by paying only part of the postage cost.                   That's right... International Reply Coupons. I think that's what I used once. If I remember rightly, you buy them in accordance with the weight/size of the return envelope which helps eliminate the other end having to pay extra (unless there are different postal rates involved).
