How to create RSS feed on my website?

Hi there,

I realise wordpress has this built in, but how do I create one on a normal website - without too much technical difficulty? Also, where do I install it, i.e. my domain home? Does this then update rss for all internal pages? RSS is still very foreign to me. I understand what it does, just haven't a clue how to implement. Any help would be great! Cheers.

If you arent using an existing CMS then you will have to write your own to create the feed from your site. A feed is an XML file. You need to create the XML file with a text editor or a generator and then upload the file to your web server. Feedburner will let you see how many people have subscribed to your feed. If you want to use it, you need to give Feedburner the URL of your feed.

Personally I like to create a feed from scratch. It's just an xml sheet, less to it than to html. See bottom sig site for example and source code. Once you have the source code it's easy to sub your own urls etc.

Each time I add a page to a site I just add an item to the feed and ping it. Takes about 2 minutes, maybe 5 on a bad day.
