How Effective is Social Bookmarking Software?

Providing it works (not using outdated account information, etc) it speeds up the process significantly. Instead of taking 3-4 hours to do it by hand, it takes 5 minutes.

Trick is (a) finding software that works, and then when you do find it, making sure that it (b) still works down the road (simply because websites change captchas, formats, etc, etc).

There are many people offering bookmarking services for peanuts. I would recommend spending your time on more important things and paying the few bucks to have someone else do this for you.

I have same question. I really liked OW. But there are a lots of problems. Hiring someone to do the same will cost 10000 of $-s, not peanuts if you have more then dozen blogs.

yeah. It got weird. I stopped messing with it months ago. It has a few
cool things it does the the desktop submitter I use doesn't do, but last
time I checked it had too many problems and hoops it tried to force
users to jump through. I still put the button on some of my sites, but
I've written-off using it for bookmarking


Well, using software is definitely cheaper than outsourcing as long as the
software is a one-time buy and not a monthly fee. Desktop software will tie-up
a PC though, so you either need to find something else to do while you're
running the app. or have another computer you can work on.

Setting up a lot of Bookmarking accounts you might want to outsource,
partially. The software above supports automatic account creation, but
sites are fickle and hand-management sometimes needs to be done
to get the accounts active and working correctly. Once the accounts
are setup, lookout, because you can bookmark like a madman.

Social Bookmarking your sites and blogs alone will get you weak results,
but when you integrate bookmarking as a regular thing you do for a lot
of your content, articles, press releases, videos and so forth, it adds
the incremental juice to the mix - the muddy slurry upon which traffic
empires are built.
