clickbank vs commission junction

Hello everyone,

I was wondering...if there is a product that I want to promote that is available on both clickbank and commission junction, is there any advantage of signing up to promote it through one service over the other?

Thanks,

Ryan

I have not been to CJ in a long time but they specialized in products of the physical kind that needed to be shipped and CB has nothing but down loadable products. I don't think there is any overlap.

I would be interested to know why you ask so I might better understand your question. I am not sure that I answered it very well. I thnk you are asking about a product of your own and which one you should use for the affiliate program and if that is so, then the download type product is CB and a physical product would be CJ. Years ago as a product vendor CJ charged a monthly fee which went to your commissions and their fees. Kind of a reserve balance, but if you didn't use it up you lost it as there was a monthly minimum you had to meet. So if you weren't doing that well it could get expensive. I doubt they have changed.

        Hello Tim,

Thanks for your reply. Actually there is a product that I am interested in promoting (it is not my own product) that is shown on both CB and CJ. I was just wondering if based on people's experience they have a preference of using one company over the other if there is a product that appears in both CB and CJ.

        Thanks,

        Ryan

      Hi Ryan,

Like Charles E. White said above, I also prefer Clickbank.
Clickbank is known for it's ultra reliability on getting commission checks
      to you on time.

I've used them to promote my own digital product.
I've also been a Clickbank affiliate for many others who have products there.

I've found Clickbank to be the most reliable out of the big three.
      Clickbank, PayDotCom, and Commission Junction.

      Hope this helps,
      Sandy

I would recommend using ClickBank if you have the choice. They pay every two weeks, not monthly like CJ, and you can set the minimum payout to $10 if you want to. CJ has either a $50 or $100 minimum payout, depending on how you choose to get paid.

    Just my two cents.

I prefer ClickBank because commissions are normally much higher.

Also, I find that merchants within CJ have too much power. For example, they can change their links all the sudden and you have to go back to all the places where you put your CJ links and change them.

AND... if you don't get enough sales, CJ will disable your account.

I have never heard of anyone complaining that they didn't get their commissions from CB. I am not saying that it doesn't happen as I don't know but I have not heard of it. There was a lot of news a while back that CJ was screwing the affiliates and not paying them the money they earned. I am not sure how that ended up but evidently CJ cleaned up their process. My impression was that it was not a broken system but a system they designed. I would be very hesitant to work with CJ after that. But that is just me.
