What In WF Has Actually Worked?

I've read through many threads here in WF, though admittedly far from all, and found case after case where a test or a challenge, etc. was supposed to teach us what works and ended up only teaching us what doesn't work.

I'm getting older now and I've learned that it's much better to concentrate on learning what does work rather than on all the gazillions of products, techniques and methods that do not work.

It'd be great if we had a WF forum specifically dedicated to 'success tests & challenges' or something like that. I've seen 'success stories' in other forums but they've usually ended up being little better than pitch platforms.
Anyway, I leave that to our capable moderators.

What threads are you aware of in WF that showed us techniques that actually did work? I mean threads that were ongoing for a period of time where we were permitted to 'look in' as the techniques were being executed.
I know of a few that failed in the end but I don't know of any that succeeded.
Do you? If so, *please* post their links here with a brief summary so we can all learn from them.

I have something pretty close to what I'm after. It's a thread that was run by Chris Guthrie:
http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ssociates.html
Maybe we can get him to run a test in the near future and get him to explain everything he's doing (without disclosure of certain trade secrets of course) and let us 'watch' him do it.

So, what threads are you aware of that let us witness successes here in WF?

I seriously doubt that you will get any takers on this. It's a big order and will call for someone with balls of stone... and a methodology that actually works. The larger problem is the time involved with doing something like this live. IM isn't a magic act. Any real, lasting, results... from any system (and I don't care who's system you select) takes a long time. Few, if any, would follow the thread dedicated to a long-term, live, experiment long enough to see the outcome. I could be wrong, but I believe that is true. Most people want to see overnight miracles. It just doesn't happen that way.

You are making this work at home stuff way harder than it is. Ready for some sanity? Clear your head and start over.

As a general rule "follow me" threads are not allowed. That may be why you are having a hard time finding them.

In a perfect world, they would be presented objectively. However, the sad truth is that all too often they become a form of self-promotion. Either by having people going to the thread author's site, or having the author turn around and sell everything as a WSO...a WSO that now has all kinds of pre-launch buzz due to the presence of a "follow me" thread.

    All the best,

The proper question is how can I work to succeed.

It's not that one method is better than another for the most part anything will work. And in that same thread for the most part most people won't work. Oh they think they work, but most of it isn't work that is pointed laser sharp at a path that will produce results.

For instance I buy almost all of the Offline WSO's, I don't have time to get on here much but once a month or so I'll buy every Offline WSO that's out there. And some of them are pure horse malarky(most??) But, I can usually find a nugget or two of good information. If someone actually worked it they could probably make some money. Sadly most get enthused by the next shiny thing that catches their eye. The WSO forum is like crack in a room full of crack addicts, everyone is looking for that veritable fountain of cash from heaven. Very few are actually willing to take that information and run with it.

Look at the reviews for most of the products. Oh that was a great product, very good information, etc. But how many of those reviews are based upon I read your WSO, I applied your WSO, I got X results. Not many.

There are less out and out unworkable products/ideas on here than there are dreamers who want something for nothing.

At least that's the way I see it.

I think there will always be some "fog" when it comes to matters like this. If I teach you how to make $60,000 per year, if I show everyone, then there will a natural decreasing return. Things that are hugely profitable are always going to have some carefully guarded secrets, especially during the time period when the profits are rolling in.

Hmm, well, not at all what I was hoping for, a lot like I kind of expected but overall you guys have come up with some really great responses.

I have found some stuff here, using some of what you point out here, that has helped, so I'll plug - 'Market Samurai' myself. I don't sell it but sheesh, what a product!

Anyway, I *do* see 'follow me' threads, even ones that moderators point out as 'must read' but pretty much not, so far, any that could be considered successes. Look at 'required reading' in one of the 'sticky' threads over in the 'SEO Discussion forum'.

Still, I can clearly see - every time a 'gold mine' is found and revealed to the public, a 'gold rush' follows soon after and then the 'gold' is gone. Such is the balance of any society.

I agree 'tall order' but was hoping some of you might have known some real good threads off hand and hoped maybe we could build a kind of library of such threads.

No? It'd be an awful big help to a lot of us.

Sorry you were disappointed but not getting a good answer is just an invitation to redefine your inquiry. For example, although it was relevant to the context of our discussion, asking only for what's worked in WF is pretty narrow (I know some will disagree for which I'm ready ); but, a lot of what you see CAN work but for two small problems...
        1. Some deep-seated psychological impediments that cause so many marketers to not follow through to launch at just the moment when they need to make a super-effort; and
        2. Many marketers, though well-intended, leave out critical information... usually in the form of minute details which, under a microscope (e.g. a thread in a forum) might seem like an OBVIOUS detail, but in the context of 80-100 pages of information, missing a small, but important, detail, can sow confusion.
Anyways, where I'm leading with this is that I think you'd enjoy looking at Fat Cat Blueprint, but I don't know as if it's been fully discussed here in WF.

        Best wishes,
        Eric

There are many good WSOs out there that work.

I personally think that one ought to do the thing that they enjoy the best and keep doing that with their own heart and love.

Quality of life improves, and you succeed (so normally you have enough money), and personally to me, money does not matter once a certain level (subjective) of money-making is attained and maintained - there are many other facets of our short and beautiful lives that deserve attention.

What worked one time on one product will not always work on another product at another time. Otherwise there would be some rules everyone followed when making sites and marketing them.

For the most part, you're right... partly because of things like technology evolving, or popular new sites with new features show up, etc and existing methods have to be adapted to take new developments into account.
