Just found that out a few days ago after I tried to sign back into my account I used last summer before taking a break to focus on an offline business. Sounds like either trying to free up space to not have to invest in more resources or poor management to me.

One thing that surprised me in their email about this is that it linked to 2 Ezine articles videos at the bottom. Are they owned by Ezine, or it just saves them making their own video? The last idea isn't likely I know, but just wondering.

Yes, we had a few authors question why we would add EzineArticles videos to GoArticles mailings. The simple answer is that we are trying to provide content that will be useful to authors in their article marketing efforts regardless of the source. In the future, we plan to add additional videos on article directories and article marketing and to publish content from the top article distribution services, including SubmitYourArticle.com, DistributeYourArticles, Content Crooner, thephantomwriters, etc.

Get real coverage with your articles and us submityourarticle.com. It cost you each month, but you are distributed to a ton of sites. One submission, 100's of sites, make sense to me.

Ron I have not been active for over 6 months at GoArticles and they did not suspend my account. If they are indeed suspending accounts I did just sign in so I guess I am good for six more months.

Just quoting their email Clint. I'm not sure how they define "inactive".

I'll throw a few in there soon.

I heard of another new one Articlet being good (I have no affiliation, investment, partnership with them) actually not with any directory, so there you have it.

I just logged in and updated my account without any problems. But it was just under 6 months since last time I was active there so I hadn't hit the deadline yet. I think it's a good idea for them to remove articles under 300 words and keep people active at least every six months. Increases the value of the directory.

Thanks for the positive comment. Regarding suspension of accounts, we originally looked at accounts that had been inactive for 12 or more months. Those were suspended first. Later we looked at accounts that were inactive for at least 6 months. The purpose was primarily to clean up our member database. GoArticles was launched back in 2001 so there were a large number of inactive or bogus accounts that needed to be removed.

Who cares? Goarticles is pretty much useless anyways just good for a backlink. They can slap me all they want and it will not even hurt lol.

Any article directory that doesn't in some form limit spam isn't worth 2 cents. I am surprised Google hasn't slapped them yet.

At least ArticlesBase requires approval of 10 articles before auto-approval.

I like the changes, good thing they changed before Google gave them a penatly. I never summit articles under 300 words and any article thats under that is not one I would perfer to read.

I no longer submit to them as the drop to PR4 makes them even less attractive IMO.

PageRank for an article directory is not the same as PageRank on an article page. Article pages have no PageRank - that is true on EzineArticles, GoArticles, ArticlesBase, etc.

Authors should be interested in site traffic, not PageRank. EzineArticles is the most popular article directory on the Web but submitting to just one article directory when there are at least half a dozen with significant traffic makes little sense.

    Good.

It's a good thing. Anybody who tells you any different is clueless, imho ....

Nobody can say with any honesty that when a directory makes these kinda changes, that it isn't good for those who are using the directly fairly and properly.

I love it when they do stuff like this... makes it a much better environment for the rest of us to work in.

If this is the GoArticles slap....Keep slappin' is all I can say

I agree... it seems like it is designed to keep up the integrity of the directory. I've gotten some good traffic from them, so I'm going to keep plugging away!
