my golf website gets almost 2,800 visits per month, want to make it a money maker

I haven't checked my golf blog stats in a while, but I did today and my site gets roughly 2800 visits per month. In April I made roughly 20 bucks from adsense. The site always does well whenever the big tournaments (Masters, PGA Championship, US Open, and British open) come around.

95% of my traffic is from search engines. My top page only gets 58 visits per month, so much of the traffic is spread throughout my site.

Is my best bet to throw a 338x280 adsense block in my posts, between the title and content and just see how that does, or should I consider doing something else to capitalize on that traffic.

2800 isn't great, but its not shabby either.

Thanks

Why don't you use a survey or poll to get feedback from you visitors and find out what they are looking for. A quick survey will tell you what those visitors are looking for. People like giving their opinions about golf thoughts, products, courses etc. This would be a great niche to use a survey on. See below for a start
i know this is a self serving message, but it might make a difference in your business

also, based on my site design...I am wondering if the main big ad I just added should use my link colors, or going with the stand out default google colors will be good?

    thoughts?

This might sound like a lot of work but why dont you start off by analyzing which of your pages gets the most views. If you are getting a lot of people landing in your "diet / nutrition category then obviously thats what they are looking for so find a book that covers that on amazon or something. If they land in the swing category try and monetise it with a clickbank book on improving your golf swing, theres loads.

    Just a thought

I attempted to sell my site to the PGA Tour a while back, and they didn't want it. 3 months later they go out and buy MajorsChampionships.com LMAO

    Thanks

EDIT - btw - I just added the adsense code block, so if you visit the site you might see a giant white space LOL.
Maybe you could put in some Amazon Ads for the sell of golf equipment. Test it out !!

Many people who play golf use hypnosis to improve their swing. You might want to affiliate to a hypnosis site with a golf related session. I run HypnoBusters and we have a Golf Improvement MP3 for $9.95 and you get 50% of any sale you generate for us.

If you're interested you can sign up for free at Hypnosis Affiliate 50% Commission! | HypnoBusters.Com

You add advertise it with a simple text link or I can make a graphic/banner for you if you want. I'm not a great graphic designer but I'm not bad. Let me know.

Go to infolinks.com and sign up, it takes a couple of days to get approved - once your account is activated some of the words within your page will have a couple of green lines underneath them- these are the infolinks and people like to click them to see what they are.

If you want an example of what they look like take a look at eearticles.com - i just put them on that site the other day and i've been making quite a bit of money from them already.

Have you start doing your list building yet? If not you may want to start doing it so, if you want to make serious money.

I would try it all. Do some serious testing. Use Clickbank, Ad Sense, Amazon, create your own products, Commission Junction, etc ...

2800 visitors per month, but you havent even cracked the top 4 million in alexa? Odd.

Anyway, I highly suggest you delete this thread. There are some ****ty people out there that will click bomb your ads, steal your content+ keywords and try to directly compete with your site.

It averages close to 90 visitors per day, but has spikes on particular days when the big tournaments roll around.

I don't follow alexa, so no clue why or why not it would be ranked a particular way.
