Does anyone not want easy cash?

Hey Guys,

I've just been mulling something over in my head and I thought it would be interesting to voice it here and see what sort of response I get.

Earlier in the week I responded to a post saying that when I'm marketing I keep in my mind that everyone is greedy and lazy. I have stuck to this over the past few years and I find it works immensley well.

Myself, I work around 8-12 hours a day so I wouldn't consider myself lazy, but when I see an opportunity to make some quick cash for minimum effort it's too good to believe. If I see that the "easy money opportunity" is backed up with lots of social proof and a cast iron guarantee, then the offer becomes so irresistable that I find myself parting with my cash in order to chase this easy money.

I seemed to get a negative response to this so I guess this feeling and method is not shared with everyone and I thought it would be great to get your opinion on how to motivate someone to purchase a product which leads to them earning money. So this could be anything from a "get rich quick ebook" to a franchise scheme. I'm not talking products which increase sex appeal etc... just money making products.

Thanks,

G

That's a tough one. I'm sure you feel differently about it, but to me it sounds like another get-rich-quick scheme. We get offers for them by the dozens, right here in this forum, everyday. So I think it's a very saturated market and would be exceedingly difficult for you to differentiate yourself and be heard above the din.

Thanks for the reply. How would you market a product which results in someone making more money? Such as a training programme, investment scheme, franchise etc...

I sell a product that takes around 6 months to complete. Now that is enough to put a lot of people off. How do I deal with the time objection? Well, I play to their lazyness and their greed. I show them that once they have completed the 6 months their life will be transformed. I show them how they will be doing so much less work and making so much more money. I back this up with social proof, guarantees and some other better than money back offers to lower the barrier of entry to a point that they would be silly not to take my offer.

It works for me, but I have an open mind. How else can we market this type of product that plays to increasing the amount money the prospect makes?

The only part I take issue with is "how to motivate someone to...." as I don't believe you can provide "motivation" for someone else. What you are doing is appealing to the motivation the customer already has....

their greed - impressive lifestyle, bigger house, less time working, easy money, quick start, "anyone can do this" or "only a select few can have this product"

their need -job lost, bills to pay, family to support, fast money, be part of the group, "anyone can do this"

their vanity - smart people do this, top people join this, what others think of you, stroking the ego of your customers, making them part of a "leading group" (think launches), "not everyone can do this"

It doesn't matter if you are selling make money products or new gardening tools - you identify what the market wants and position it as the answer to their problem.

    Hi G,

The easiest way(s) to get someone motivated to buy a product:

[1] It must WORK & the potential customer must be convinced of this. i.e they MUST be able to earn money from the "system" or whatever you are selling.

[2] Be honest about what is required in terms of the "work load" so the buyer does not get disappointed on the inside and refund.

[3] The benefits must be clear to the sales letter visitor.

E.g. I Earned $50,000 in one month with this free traffic strategy - click here to see some of my earnings.

I think that approach is great - no hard hype...

I did all this from about 10 days solid graft....

    As oposed to

"I went down the beach and did a bit of surfing, when I came back I had $50k in my Amazon account... or whatever...

I'll tell you something straight (from my experience)...

The US info product sales industry (call it what you will) has gone so far down the path of HYPE, even the players who are considered succesful (and I know afew personally) BELIEVE THE HYPE. They actually convince each other that HYPE and Hyped up PRE-LAUNCH stuff is a MUST.

    They are wrong.

If you send a hypey email to a list, too many people will ignore it, even though they may only be $100 away from something life changing.

Tell them straight what the product can do, skip the hype (or at least the hype that is only there to gloss up an average product).

You'll convert more, but the product must deliver.

    There's my thrupence worth.

    Aaron.

Easy cash prevents you from making money, in the long run.
