I'm guessing there's a simple solution to this WordPress question

I've installed WP on the root of my domain and uploaded a custom theme. I'm having two problems.

1. I've set a static homepage but can not see and of the home page content. There should be a slider and three columns of text but all I see is the little bit of text I entered when I installed WP. Any ideas?

2. I'm using this as a CMS for a business/product site but will still have a blog section. To set up the blog section you create a blog category, set up a page using the blog template, and instruct the blog page to only pull posts from the blog category. When I clack on categories on the dashboard "blog" is listed. When I go to the blog page via the dashboard to tell it to only pull from the blog category "blog" isn't listed as a choice.

I've got a support request in to the theme designer but I want this sorted as quickly as possible.

Here's the site-----> Site

Thanks,

Kevin

    1. Check for the theme options on the wordpress admin page. There is most likely some fields where you can change the content or designate a category that has posts to appear on the home page.

    2. Not sure without checking it out. Put a post into the category and see if that makes a difference.
