Feel free to SHOUT at me.

Me and my techie have just been trying to find a reliable and suitable US web hosting service for beginners on a tight budget. (We are UK based)

I need to find one quickly in order to create some videos for "how to set up affordable hosting" as part of a course we are running...

Captain Geeko (the techie) schreeeeeeched at me not to ask on here!

Why I asked?

"Because they will all shout at you for not searching the forum first." came the reply...

Well guys, if i offended any one by not checking the forum first - please accept my apologies, I am very very busy trying to set this up and the best way I could think of getting some useful help regarding this is to ask here... This way I'm getting up-to date replies rather than looking through older Warrior posts which may include out-of-date details etc...

Anyone recommend anywhere to get cheap reliable hosting in the US for noobs

This hosting will need to host up to 20 very basic html sites I guess and be suitable for noobs (although we will be doing "how to videos"...)

Thank you in advance for any pointers...

Regards

Aaron

www.godaddy.com - reasonable pricing, very stable, and excellent customer service

BTW, I REALLY like the banner/header on that infoproductkiller page. If that's yours, why not just host your stuff where you host that? However did that artwork has some real creativity.

Hostgator reseller hosting - $24.99 for unlimited sites. If you look up Hostgator here on the forum there's a ton of threads talking about it because alot of marketers seem to use it.

      Hi Russ,

cheers for the design comments (not sure if I can plug him on here or not?) but yep they look the part.

I have servers coming out of my ears in the UK but need to help people in the US who are signing up to a course I'm doing.

Part of the requirements are cheap hosting for multiple (small site) domains. I'd prefer to recommend third parties rather than take on the hosting this end.

I'm basically tryin to find a third party that is cheap, reliable and user friendly so a quick "how to video" should have our course members (or the total noobs to hosting) well on their way...

      Thanks

You could try a VPS through Powervps or perhaps Liquidweb and get a bunch of IP addresses. Each IP will cost about $1 per month and if they are just simple websites (low maintenance), you could sell them space for a few dollars per month.

You would make a little profit and give them what they need.

Aaron, please teach Hostgator - it's what me and a ton of my clients use. You can get a hatchling or baby plan very cheap and it's easy for a tech noob to use. Unlimited domains on there too.

      Thanks Tiff,

      I should've called you first!

It's all because of you this lol... Techie did a template which is ready - just need to nail the hosting element for the other users.

I'll pick your brains about hostgator on Monday (I thought they did powerade drinks) ! Thanks again..

The 2 best sites are 1and1 and Hostgator.

But, since 1and1 doesn't use cpanel, I would suggest Hostgator as well.
    Don't like Godaddy.

Aaron, I've been very happy with 1and1 (1and1.com) for about 2 years now and their service

    is great.

I had someone try to hack a security vulnerability in a script on one of my sites over the weekend and they had an attack analysis with what the hacker did, what file they hacked, what hacking techniques they used and then secured it for me and told me how to keep it secure with steps to follow,

emailed to me within minutes even though it was a weekend.

You can't buy that kind of peace of mind and they have been

very helpful any time I've contacted them for anything.

I was so happy from the service I received and how easy it is

to add on domains, create new websites and overall just to

know they are reliable that I tried out their affiliate program too.

When I joined, they happened to have been running a special

on free domains and I sent out an email to my contacts and friends

    and made a few sales.

They sent the commissions straight to my paypal and it was great receiving them.

Their affiliate manager is awesome to talk to as well and will provide

you with any/all professional promotional tools/materials you may need

and their customer support is live, real people, 24 hours a day and 7 days a week.

You don't know what an asset it is to be able to have a technical support

representative walk you through a set up, install or other tech task

until it is completed all in one sitting until you experience it yourself.

    They've got me spoiled.

I've installed forums, cms membership scripts, blogs and websites with them

as well as recommended to clients who are very happy with their service.

You can recommend them with confidence because you know if your members

ever did have any issue where they needed tech help, instead of hiring it

out, they can call the dependable 24/7 customer support team

    and have it solved immediately.

    Very impressed.

    Hope this helps.

      Doug Barger says:

100% agreed, particularly on the tech support issue. When I had a question while setting up a site there, the Support person was almost embarrassingly patient and thorough, a complete step-by-step talkthrough, and when my issue was solved he asked twice to make sure I didn't have any other questions and encouraged me to contact him if any arose.

A little later I received a followup email just to confirm everything had been handled to my satisfaction -- I felt like they'd mistaken me for someone important, then realized 1&1 actually practices the old adage that says "The customer is the most important person in any business."

I couldn't recommend them more highly.
