Paypal Buy Now Button and Then What???

I see people setting up their WSO's with Paypal buy now buttons or a link that directs them to paypal. But what I am not understanding is how do people get their WSO (or whatever it is) after that? Is it acceptable to send it to the person via email or better to set it up automatically? I would say automatically - speaking from experience I am very impatient and would like my download NOW! But how do you set it up automatically?

(A lot of questions today, I know. Thanks for answering!)

You can get paypal to send the buyer to a website page where they can download your product - assuming it is downloadable.

You need to give the webpage a weird name like www.yourdomainwe/46ybetrtchgaqr.html

to stop people guessing your download page name

I like both of these ideas - I think I may tinker with putting the download on my domain at some point. Is it fairly straightforward to have paypal send people to a link?

I have used both methods and e-junkie is the safest with an optin list automatically built. No one can hijack your downloads.

Another great use for e-junkie is if you don't want to use all your bandwith up. For example a massive video tutorial package..

There is a massive 145 day free trial (voucher code) for e-junkie knocking around if you do some google searching..

Also download pages can be found through Google really easily so that's why I recommend e-junkie.

As for whether or not it it easy to set up then yes fairly if you know what you are doing

To set up a paypal button to send someone to your website you use the customise feature that comes up during the set up process.

In step 3 you are asked for the return url the buyer should be sent to after buying

Thanks! That is very helpful so now I know what to expect.

I did hear that google would index your download links and people could find them via the search engines. Are you saying that with e-junkie, this doesn't happen?

I wasn't looking forward to tinkering with my site as my skills are minimal and it probably would have taken me a week to pull off creating a download link.

E-junkie hosts the download on their secure server so it isn't found though Google

Check this video out for the paypal direct method

Just found this video on Youtube that goes through the process

Of course you can always set your PayPal button to indicate that the product will be emailed to the buyer. (At least I think there is... sure I saw it where you choose the URL to send people to).

Set up an auto responder containing your attached download (assuming it isn't too huge). Use your auto responder as the download source in PayPal. That way, no one can find your download page/product. It's automatic when the person orders. You don't have to do anything once you set it all up.

This is great if you are in limited funds for using any download protection resource, like the one mentioned (e-Junkie) or programs like DL Guard which you install on your server. Since you already stated that you aren't very techie, I'd say the auto responder is your best bet.

I use DL Guard and wouldn't use anything else to deliver my WSOs. It's convenient and secure. I've got DLG set up on one of my domains and it handles well over 60 pay buttons and products from one control panel.

I can easily log in to my panel and change prices, downloads, etc. It handles my PayPal buttons, ClickBank, and many other.

Best of all, it comes with the fantastic support of Sam Stephens (a Warrior).

DLGuard - Download page protector, create expiring download links

I can't recommend it highly enough.

It was quite simple for me. The minute I got lost I PMed Sam "Help!" and he finished the install for me. Well worth an hour of setting up, as after that it takes me about 2-3 minutes each time I set up a new product.

                          Just gotta chime in here...

                          DLG IS FANTASTIC!

And so is SUPPORT from Sam Stephens.

It does everything Kevin says and more, and for the price, it's well worth it.

Now, I must admit I had a difficult time getting things working properly. But that was just me. Sam soon showed me some of the small details I was missing. Once I set up a couple of products and figured out where to put them in my host account, it's now easy, especially with the handy control panel which lists every product and membership sites you've created.

If I run into problems figuring out where things go and what URLs to use, I can simply look back at another product in my list and just follow that example.

As far as installing it... Sam is there. Just like he is there to help you with any problems you're having, no matter how small. His patience is astounding. And his response time is fantastic, just like his product.

I've heard people talk about problems they have working with other systems and expected similar with this product, but I was pleasantly surprised.

I'm with Kevin (and others) on this one. I highly recommend DLG if you plan to offer products in a secure area.

It is easy to miss that bit especially if you're in a hurry.
There's a link called "other options" or similar.
It's there you can add a download link.

    Another vote here for DLG
It's a lot easier than setting up in paypal.

The only reason I went back to setting up in paypal
is they finally gave a default language option saving
everyone from having to read my page in Dutch.

But of course Sam has this covered as well now.
I just hadn't updated my ancient version.
    DLG is money well spent.
