If You Could Have 3 Mentors, Alive Or Dead, Who Would They Be and Why?
1. John Reese
John has such a wealth of knowledge and has lived this stuff for like 18 years and every time I watch one of his presentations I get some amazing new insight.
I also think he is a very honest marketer and prices his products very reasonable considering the tremendous value he delivers.
His ability to see the 'big picture' on the Internet would make me think he could see different areas very quickly I could improve on.
I also find him an inspiration since he came from $107,000 in debt to becoming a multimillionaire.
I've taken on board a lot of his advice such as:
1. Focus on One Thing.
2. Play Both Sides Of the Game.
3. Build A Business, Not A Money Maker.
4. Sacrifice Early Profits.
5. Brainwash Yourself To Think You're Rich, Even When You're Not.
Plus Loads More.
I hope in the future he releases his Reese Rules as a book because to be honest it would be head and shoulders ahead of the vast majority of other books out there, particularly with relevance to Internet Marketers.
2. Gary Halbert
I think that Gary's statement that his website is the "Most Valuable on The Internet" is pretty damn accurate. I've spent dozens and dozens of hours on his site and gleaned so many amazing ideas and insights.
His personality shines through and he delivers not just on marketing but on your life in general.
Honestly, I've listened to Tony Robbins, Jim Rohn and the whole Jing Bang show of them BUT I've got more out of The Halbert Letters than any of them without any exaggeration.
His insights on efficiency and effectiveness are essential reading too.
He really inspired me to learn copywriting and I've copied a lot his material out by hand as he suggested.
His ideas on being a Marketer and how you shouldn't limit yourself to one medium are also very valuable.
Sadly Gary passed away last year, however, his life lives on with the letters.
Plus, everyone should listen to the interview he did with Mark Joyner about The Coat of Arms. Incredible!
The effort and brainpower that went into making that a success was astounding and as Internet Marketers we're really blessed with the technology and discoveries we now have that, potentially, make it so much easier for us.
A brilliant quote(among many) I heard from Gary:
3. X
I find X so refreshing.
I've read all of the stuff that he has published freely such as The Death of Crap, The Great Affiliate Sham and he's impressed me a lot.
His ideas about delivering value and building assets and also his willingness to not be a "Me Too" Marketer and his open criticism of some Marketers who absolutely need to be criticised ranks very highly with me.
I like the way he talks about building a business, assets and providing value.
For this reason next week when I'm buying Speed PPC through his affiliate link to get his Black Book DVDs and can't wait!
I've decided to keep it as my Top 3 Mentors but if I could pick 2 or 3 more they would be Aaron Wall, Perry Marshall and Frank Kern.
Please share who would be your top 3 Mentors and why because I think this could be a really interesting thread!
Best Wishes,
Kenneth Rearden
