A Question for Self Employed Bloggers

How often do you post to your blog/blogs? This is more of a question for people making a full time income on authority blogs. I know that autobloggers post daily.

I know a blogger who makes $1000 per day through his single blog. He works for 8-9 hours everyday on his blog. He has posted over 5000 articles in last 6 years. It's not only the quantity but quality of the content that matters.

That would be about 2 posts a day, if I did the math right. I know that the more pages/posts you have, the more money a blog tends to make.

I've talked to people that only post twice a month though that make a great living too. I'm just trying to get an estimate of what the norm is.

What does he use to make $1,000 day Adsense?

Just checked that blog after few months to answer your questions with latest updates.

Earlier he was using only adsense. However, now it appears that he has found few sponsors as well. He must be earning more than ever now.

Another correction is that he has 6000+ articles now.

Curiosity kills the cat.. Hence, here is the first external link in my posts on this forum:

I see several bloggers that have been doing it for years after building up to what they have now only post like 2 or 3 times a week.

I usually add one highly relevant and original post once or twice a week, and that seems to do the seo trick at keeping the site at the top of page one of results for a certain keyword phrase.

I have found that it doesnt really matter if you post every day or twice a week, as long as you are consistant and post good quality content

Start with a couple of blogs and get traffic to it. I know someone who started there and now he offers advertisements to his site, banner ads, i think has adsense as well. I guess just choosing what really interest the readers.

There is no magic number. Your posting rate depends on things like your topic, your audience, the type of blog you want to have, the amount of information you have available to you, how much time you have to create quality content, etc.

A good rule of thumb: it is better to post good quality content less often than it is to post poor quality content all the time. If your posts aren't good it won't matter how many of them there are, you won't make any money.

      Good point Erin.

I post three times a week on my blog. Usually Monday, Wednesday and Friday. My articles are short and useful to my readers interest in becoming better internet marketers.

I think most of the pro bloggers (I'm not there yet but it's my goal) use their blog as a listbuilding tool. Yaro Starak of Entrepreneurs-Journey.com is a very good example of this, as is Darren Rowse at ProBlogger.net.

They have a great giveaway, several places to opt-in and provide awesome content.

Between the ads on the site, the membership sites they have and the list marketing, they make huge amounts every month.

Yaro works about 2 - 3 hours, about 3 times per week to create what he calls 'Pillar Content'. Check out his free guide on his site for details.

      Matt
