Hey, I have done a lot of research and found that i think i am going use golf as my niche. Now i want to do it in blogging format so i was wondering what sites can i blog on and put my google adsense on them so i can make money? Also is there a way i can tell how much the average golf ad pays per click? Thank you, - Eric |

Hi Eric, Good going. Now that you've decided golfing as your niche, setting up a blog is pretty easy. Depending on whether you want a blog that you can fully control or a free blog hosted elsewhere like Blogger.com or Wordpress.com If you decide to have your own hosted blog (which is usually recommended) and your hosting server is using CPanel, the Wordpress blog can be setup with just a few clicks. I'm not an expert on the subject of using Adsense and the average pay per click so maybe someone else can offer you better advice on it. Asher |

I have seen many others recommend using affiliate link boxes on your page instead of adsense, and it makes sense because lately the CTR I've been getting on my adsense ads is just horrible. So I suggest you find some solid golf related affiliate programs.

If you're making an adsense blog go with Blogger. It's made by google so it's automatically optimized for adsense.

Hi Eric, Will your bolg on golf? I mean there are way too many sites on golf and for your to rank well try to focus in a particular aspect of golfing. For example I typed "golf back swing" and there were less than 10,000 pages on that phrase. Do your keyword research first and then build around it. Try to get into a real niche with golfing and I think you'll do great. BTW I bought Alvin Phangs - Atomic Blogging and that was a great buy. I just finished intalling and setting up my blog today and he bascially guides you step by step. Andres

Just try and go after as many long tail keywords as possible. If you do that I think you can try and tackle the entire golf niche. So you would have category pages on driving, putting, chipping, training.... ect Then for each of those write long tail focussed keyword rich articles. "Learn how to putt from 5 feet in" "Simple Putting Tricks" "Drive the Ball 100 Yards Longer". I think you would be very surprised by the sheer volume of long tail golf keywords searched for in a day. There are thousands and thousands of long tail phrases as well . I used to think that creating a small niche site on say, Lag Putting, was the way to go. Then I read a story on Yaro Starak's blog about a guy who built up a site about cars by dominating long tail keywords and sold if for millions. Then Allen posted a comment (I can't find the link) about how he would spend a certain amount of cash and it was on writing as many health related articles as he could. So you go after the entire market but dominate the little niche segments. Feel free to jump in and correct me... |

| Depends. If you're writing your own content, no. But you can (and if you're making a decent income, should) outsource stuff like article writing or link building.

Adsense isn't that good for golf unless you're wanting to stick exclusively to promoting golf resorts. Even then, you can make more working better paying vacation niches. You can get an estimate of potential earnings at the Adwords external tool: https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal This tool shows what advertisers pay, on average, to display an ad with the specified keywords on Google itself. To get an idea of what you would get as a payout for a click, divide that amount by at least 4 and perhaps as much as 10. You'll make more monetizing with appropriate affiliate programs and email list marketing. |

or your business, install wordpress, get a few plugins to make wordpress more like a cms and start adding content. If you set this up right you could be getting traffic asap and one more thing you must have an autoresponder so you can collect leads that visit your site so when ever you update your blog, you just have to let them know and boom targeted traffic. ![]() --David

If you're short on cash start with blogger or wordpress since it's free, but if you can afford the $9.95 go w/hostgator-they have a feature in their hosting so you can easily set up your wordpress blog. Plus you can set up multiple domains for $9.95. Highly recommend. Definitely use article marketing to drive traffic, squidoo pages, niche keyword and long-tail keywords like others have suggested. Search for keywords using goodkeywords w/less than 100k searches. Good luck! |
