List Building...How Do You Do It?

I find listbuilders are pretty I have put 20 people on my list with one list builder in one day so if you use alot of them you could add alot more.

I think a free product or report for your opt its the best way as people always want free stuff all they have to do is put an email in also make sure the free product is of value not just some grappy ebook you got for free put your own story in it explain who you are that will get your customer intrested for when you send more products to sale they will see your name and say oh yea he gave me a great free product ill have a look see what he has to offer hope this helps

I don't, and never really have, been very sophisticated about it. I just created a product that most people were charging small amounts for, gave it away for the email address, and then promoted the heck out of the page to get SERP ranking because it has good volume.

I also get the double-opt in from customers as well.

Free Giveaway is the Key... whether its a small report or an expensive tool

You create some free offer that helps people on your market, a free report or a free video, you create then a squeeze page that is like a small sales letter or video that convinces people to give you their name and email address and then you give them that info and now you are building your list.

Now you drive traffic to the squeeze page from all over the place, social media, ppc, seo, ppv, adswaps, videos, you name it. Hope it helps.

You definitely can build your list with a freebie in exchange for the email, but that doesn't mean that those people will eventually ever be buyers. I have several hundred freebie seekers on my list and that's exactly what they are - freebie seekers. Not that that's bad...but they won't buy, so what good are they to me?

I don't think anything works better for building a list than giving something away for FREE, especially a good report.

Well I started a list simply by making a splash page. You see in the splash page I put a link to an online form that people must fill out. Because the form only allows 100 entries a month. I posted in the splash page that there are 100 spots open.

So someone fills out the form and I put there name and email in a special contact group for just those 100 spots. This not only builds my list but I can also teach these select few about the online business venture I am with. Teach them a few ways to get referral and make money. I like it mainly because of the one on one approach.

I think the real key isn't so much what entices someone to join your list (paid or free), but how you interact with them once they're on your list. I have so much more success in the long run when I take the time to build relationships and offer real value to my list every single time I email them - even when I'm not sending them something to make a buck.

When you can get to the point that most of your list members open your emails simply because your name is in the From line, you can't lose!

Free product I have but I haven't really used list-building sites.

Maybe I should give it a try. Are they really worth it in terms of
building your list or should I just stick to driving traffic to my site
myself?

I've tested many list exchanges and found that most of the traffic from those convert pretty low.

Ad swaps are hit and miss, but you can work pretty well.

One of the best ways to get quality subscribers in my opinion (at least in IM niche) is to create products where you allow affiliates to get 100% of your commissions (these are $7 - $37 products).

People use scripts like that $7 one that pay affiliates 100% as an incentive to build a list of buyers. I never tried that but Willie Crawford said that worked well for him.

When you just started i recommend buying solo ads to trusted list owners and then do swaps. When you make some money take that money to upgrade to some proven list builders to get more clicks to your squeeze pages and add extra subscribers.

But never stop doing the basic (swapping and cross promo)

Great post, I have been looking for other ways to build my list quickly.

Personally, I use Yahoo PPC, Bing, PPV and Facebook to build my list. The costs of traffic as compared to traditional Google Adwords is tremendously lower. Also, article marketing still works. But of course, that will take kinda longer to see results.

One quick way to build your list fast is to partner with someone in the same niche as you are. It doesn't matter whether he/she is selling a product or just offering something for free. You can partner with them to put your free list-getting offer on their download page. works well for me everytime.

After being burned way too many times I've decided that the best way to start with is using the tortoise way. I'm building my list little by little in my own pace sticking to my plan.

First 100 subscribers, then 200, then 300 with grunt work. When I have reached 500 subscribers. I'll try ad swapping with other marketers in my niche with similar sized lists and so on.

There are too many sites run by serious and un-serious marketers claiming to have the ultimate system that will help to build my list fast. The reality is that online business is like the vast majority of the business in the world. You have to build it step by step (I'm talking about the average small business not those with a giant join-venture capital).

The fairy tales about building a huge list in weeks is just that fairy tales, and sometimes a reality for those who know what they're doing from the beginning. The later isn't the case of most of the beginner Internet marketers.

Recently one guy offered premium rapidshare accounts for subscribing to his blog. The traffic increased rapidly on his blog too. It broke the 100 K Alexa ranking barrier. Page Rank increased from 3 to 6 in just a matter of four months. Obviously he had unique content and lot of SEO work done too. The blog is just one year old.

I agree with using Yahoo and Bing for PPC.

They remind me of how Google used to be before they became so grrrr!

Make sure you use quadruple optin!

I personally simply offer something of great value like my FREe FBML Code that people will actually use and is actually selling for good $$.

Then I post it on several forums and offer a no opt in option for other email list and products.

All they have to do is contact me asking for the no OPt in option to give their members this added value.
