Commission Junction link cloaking

Hi,
I have been searching for a while now and I'm not finding any definitive answers....I think maybe the WF has some members that can help.

When cloaking affiliate link in Commission Junction, is it necessary to include the img src code in the link?

The link cloakers I have tried do not allow that part of the code, it reads the whole link as invalid because it has a "break" in the line of code.

I've been using Wordpress lately to build my sites, and Pretty Link as the plug-in. It's super easy to use but won't accept that full code.

I do see that I'm getting impressions on my sites as well as clicks, but no sales are showing up so I'm thinking that may be where the problem is. Maybe not, but I can't know for sure.

Any ideas?

Thanks!
Rae

The image is not part of the link.
You only need the href portion of the link.

    For Example:
    <a href="http://www.warriorforum.com/" other stuff...>
Take only what is within the quotes

Their TOS do not allow cloaking - if caught you will lose all your account.

There is a difference between cloaking and simply creating a redirect, a "jumpscript".

      See ShoeMoney's description here: http://www.shoemoney.com/2008/02/12/...l-redirection/

Unfortunately the terms are often used interchangeably.

We aren't trying to fool anyone, no iframes or anything like that either.

I would never use any URL shortening service, either. That service goes away and ALL YOUR LINKS DIE! Never mind the "trust" feature.

I ALWAYS use PHP redirects and NEVER an open affiliate link. (I enumerate 9 reasons in one of my free ebooks, as well as show how to create them).

Kirk is right, just the part between the quotes is fine.

So of course I'm going to ask if you can send me your free e-book that shows how to do the php redirect?

I probably have a slight idea of how to do it, but would like the steps on exactly how.

        Thanks,
        Rae
