Unclear email... can someone explain?

3 replies
Hi,

I just received an email from someone wanting to advertise on my site.

The puzzling part about the request is the way it was worded:

<quote>I'd like to pay you to review some links that I'd like to place on Leisure Travel Ideas
</quote>

She wants to pay me to review some links? What the heck does that mean? The way I'm understanding her message, she wants to pay to put links on my site, ie: to advertise.

Now the second part of my question is...

How do I figure out what price would be appropriate? I know there's a site that gives you info on how much I could get for people to advertise on my site, but since this site is only a few months old with very minimal traffic, the price will be 0.

Any suggestion on how to proceed? Am I understanding her request properly? How much would I charge this person?

Thanks.

Sylvia

    No harm in asking them to clarify?

      That doesn't really help with what to charge. I have absolutely no idea what people charge/pay for such services. Of course larger, more established and brand sites will want big bucks, but mine is just a small site that's barely even gotten off the ground.

        I would reply like this.

        Hi I'm very busy these days but I'll consider your offer. What kind of budget do you have for this?
