My Facebook Group is at nearly 2 Million members (it's getting about 5k new members a day). Right now, I'm not monetizing it at all. I've put some clickbank links on the main page of it a while ago and it was getting about 500 click throughs and a few sales, but they weren't very targeted products. I thought about monetizing it with a toolbar download - either one that pays per download, or create my own and run my own affiliate offers through the download. Know what I mean? If anyone has any ideas related to that - or if you have any ideas about how to monetize a facebook group with 2 million (and growing) members, I am open to any and all suggestions...I think there's huge potential here, and then an info product in the future using this as an example. Best, Rob |

Can I see a link? How did you get so many members? My first sugesstion is to set up a half dozen blogs targeted to different affiliate links with adsense. Once a a day post a bulliten that says you just updated your dating blog or refinance blog. |

2 million and on monitization?? My aren't you charitable... Sell existing facebook aps/widgets or create some new ones. Is there a certain demo that these members belong to, or are they a huge cross section? Are you at least setting up some newletters for these folks? You could have huge back end potential here. |

Need to know what the group is about before giving advice on monetization. For all know it could be a group for people with wonky ears, and here I am with the best spectacle product EVER seen. Get what I mean though? Darren |

Hey, man that's impressive. I'm interested in what the group is that people seem so inclined to go to. I'm with pk, I'm more than a bit curious.

Thanks for the replies and PM's so far guys. I'm not ready to announce the name of the group, but I will in a couple of days. I've been slowly developing an idea for monetization, but I don't know if it'll work - I've helped build web based businesses before, but nothing like traditional internet marketers or affiliates do, so my knowledge is limited and it makes me less sure of the steps to take. |

I don't know your market, but you could throw at them different stuff and just get an idea what's hot with them. Just make sure to read between the lines.

Yes, you will have to tell us the niche of your group to give you a reasonable answer. Since Facebook is dominated by the 20 -30 year old demographic, there are a number of good things you can promote to them. Obviously people on Facebook are using it to communicate with friends and meet new people. You could try a CPA product or program. rocketprofits.com is highly recommended for CPA products and programs. They have hundreds and most fit the 20 - 30 year old demographic. Obviously the people are interested in what ever the group is related to so target products related to that. Other general things you could try are 18+ adult social networking sites. Facebook doesnt allow nude riskay photos and there are alot of people out there that want to show themselfs off, have a perve and a fling. There is a CPA campaign on RocketProfits that offers $2.25 for a completed zero cost profile in one of these sites. Alot of the largest groups on Facebook are dedicated to Sexual stuff like Boobs and Bums. There is a CPA campaign on RocketProfits right now for a 2 year subscription for Playboy. Paying $16 per signup. This could do very well if your group is dedicated to that. There are some good Clickbank products you could promote. People are always worried bout what they look like. Could Try weightloss product or 6 pack abs program. Could join Ringtone Partners.com and offer people a complimentary Ringtone. Very high conversion with this one. I did very well with it. Even though ya see the complimentary ringtone ads everywhere nowdays. I sarted a new mothers group on Facebook for a specific CPA campaign i wanted to try. Its was a cutest baby competition. Only have a few thousand in the group but since every mother thinks their baby is the cutest, signups and conversion were insane. Building massive groups extremly fast on facebook is very easy if you are creative and ahead of the pack. You have to be fast and on the ball. Things that become overnight sensations are great to make groups for. e.g. Since the US election is a hot topic now, you could have started a group on the night Sarah Palin was chosen to run for Vice President, asking people to become a fan of Sarah Palin. The leading Sarah Palin Group has around 240,000 now. Facebook is one of the most viral sites iv ever seen. For every little thing you do, it notifies all your friends. If you join a group, your firends will be notified and no doubt some of them will join and so on. |

Here's the group: Login | Facebook I've sent this survey to some of the members to get their thoughts: Choose Snowball Effect's Destiny I like the conduit toolbar idea. Not sure what kind of revenue that could generate though. |

Looks like other people are doing a great job monetizing your group by spamming the comments section.

| Haven't begun policing that yet. Truth be told, people post comments so quickly that most of the time, each post is only visible for a couple of minutes before it gets bumped. And since they are completely random posts and offers they don't have the same authority as if the group as a whole was focused in one direction.

I've been having some incredible success lately thanks to Facebook... I market a product that's very region-specific.... T-shirts bearing slogans in the local dialect, with a humorous edge. About 50-70% of my daily traffic comes from Facebook. Check out Black Country T-shirts, maybe it'll inspire you to set up something similar if your geographical region has a similar pride in its daft accent!

Here's a bonus idea for how you can monetize it: Create a product teaching people how to create a facebook group that gains 2,000,000 members. I'll proof-read it for you for free. ![]() What's the niche? |
