EzineArticles vs GoArticles

I've been researching a few fairly popular niches recently, and it seems that on almost on every single one of them, there are GoArticles at the top or near the top of the SERPs, often without an EzineArticle anywhere in site.

Is there something up here, or would it just be coincidence?

Probably just coincidence, since I seem to have the opposite case with EZA found in abundance and nothing from Go.

    cheers,

I've noticed both, but strangely enough they don't stay high in the SERPs for very long in my experience. Suppose if you continued to work on backlinks they may, but without, not sure they do.

On the other hand, I've had blog posts and articles on my own domain with a few backlinks that do rank in top 10 and have been there for months.

EZA must love it, though - authors building up their traffic and Adsense income for them!

Alexa - I get the distinct impression having seen your previous posts that you really do hate EZA..
Though your point ref backlinking to your own articles does make sense..

People get hung up over Ezine; yes, they are important & valuable, but not the end-all or last word in article directories.

If you aren't submitting to at least 10 of the top directories you are leaving easy money on the table.

I totally agree. However, GoArticles is one of the ones I try to stay away from. I have said it a number of times here and everywhere else, the quality of the articles in that directory are poor. I think it has a great deal to do with the fact that they have an automatic approval and not a real person reading and approving QUALITY articles.

I also agree what Alexa said about posting your articles first on your blog. Yet, I always recommend changing the title and maybe a few words or sentences so that Ezine does not come back to me claiming duplicate content and me having to prove to them that the Blog is mine.

The websites/directories that BEST control for quality...WILL emerge as leaders.

Having a real person read and approve articles can be time consuming, and can cost alot more, but if I were running a website like that, I would seriously look into the most cost-effective and efficient way to do that.

I agree with Roger. EZA is not the end-all-be-all. Sure, they're a good directory, but there are other good directories out there, too. I started by submitting articles to a bunch of different directories, then waited to see which ones gave me the best results.

    Just coincidence, EZA without question.

I have gotten mixed results from both of them.

Sometimes EZA works better and sometimes GoArticles does.

They both are there on top but the position keeps changing. To be on a safe side, I would recommend you use both

Truth is EZA would normally be the first call for most people doing article marketing, with goarticles and certain others following thereafter - but I must admit that EZA are for me definitely the more "rated" and "professional", plus from my lmited experience, the EZA backlink always appears firstly in site explorer proving that your hard work is justified ..

Ezinearticles is without a doubt bigger and better. I remember hearing somewhere something lik 1/3 or 1/4 (i don't remember exactly) of all searches in Google have an ezinearticle in the top 10 spot.

I've seen every one of those articles sites on the first page at one time or another. All of them are pretty heavily used and the value of each seems to be in one's own perspective. Some people use articles primarily for backlinks to their site in hopes of getting some views too while others use articles primarily for "article marketing". Everything depends on your specific purpose & how you craft your plan.
