Disaster At The UK Focus Seminar In London

The disaster is I had to go home!

Here's why I'll be going to many more.
This is the first anglo american seminar I've attended although I've been invited to many.

I only flew down from yorkshire for one night and to be honest wasn't too bothered about the seminar, I wanted to meet some of my IM mates for a few beers on saturday night.

I arrived early and watched the presentations on saturday.

Most of them were thoroughly enjoyable and interesting and the ones that weren't my cup of tea were perhaps more interesting because I was able to sit down and figure out why they didn't appeal to me as much as the other guys did.

But the real value in going?

The bar.

I met half a dozen people who knew about my business and wanted to say hello and vice versa.

And I made two contacts and arranged future contact so we can sort out JV's.

I'll make back the cost of the seminar many times over and my initial feeling is that the mates I made will end up being both IM partners and personal friends.

Seminars?
Pitch-fests?

I'm a convert!

Good stuff Tony. Yes I agree the value in seminars and meet ups is the networking that can be done and to get to know people much better than on a website or via email/phone.

For my sins I was actually born in Lancashire but my family's all Yorkshire and we live here now - kids born here (can play Cricket for Yorkshire officially).

Feel like I should burst into 'On Ilka Moore Baht 'at' now

But yes the seminar thing - wonderful.

Tony, I turned the TV off at 9pm and started reading your "Blog Your Wage" eBook. The next thing I knew it was 11:45. To date, I've spent some pretty good money at Amazon for eCommerce and Web 2.0 related books, and none of them has given me the education that you just have.

I'm only half-way through -- I have to go to bed now -- but I've a feeling that tomorrow morning, I'll be spilling corn-flakes on my MacBook keyboard just to finish the rest of the book as soon as possible.

Tony, I can't believe that you've given away such an arse-spankingly good publication. I've learned so much. I'm so very grateful.

I'm missing these events but there's one here in Singapore in a few weeks which I'm hoping to get to as Ross and Anik will be there speaking and I just want to buy them a drink
