Probably not, but I am fairly new to all this, so here is my idea...

I thought of the idea after reading that visitors quite often need to visit a site a few times before making a purchase - the way I describe below, I thought they may feel as though they have visited the site a number of times with clicking through different pages and then returning to the main page again.

Once a visitor clicks on the link they are taken through a series of 5 pages telling them 5 things about hairdressing (or whatever your niche is) - the last item is telling them that training is an important thing they should know about hairdressing - they are then returned to the hairdresser training DVD sales page.

Also, rather than having the 'Dear Friend' beginning to the sales page, I have each of the 5 pages starting off progressively 'friendlier' by starting them in different ways:
'welcome'
'Hello again'
'Welcome back...'
'Hello friend'
'Hello my friend, and welcome back to the final section'

Do you think this is a good/bad idea ?
Do you think it will help turn visitors into paying customers ?
Are there any comments/suggestions ?

It isnt a new idea, seen it used for years, I dont see it been any different to clicking to another page on a website,

Only one way to find out if it works for your niche, do it and keep testing it.

Good Luck from one Yorkshire man to another

I don't get it. The statistic is that a user that has visited a site multiple times is more likely to convert. That is, they land on your site, wait a few days, try a similar search, find you again, are extra convinced that your site is providing something valuable. Making a single visit 'feel' like multiple visits isn't going to get you very far.

The point is some people do require to see an advertisment several times before they actually purchase what is being sold. Some do it on the first response and some dont because some people just do require more time to convert.

This concept is due to many factors.. One of which is the visitor ask "is this site going to be here tomorrow" - "is this site going to provide what I want" .. Many different factors come into play here..
