best way to accept flexible payments via website

I am still quite new to running my own business. I offer SEO services. So I've got a dumb question: what is the best technology to accept flexible payments via a website? There is no pre-set amount. If I used PayPal's "donate" option, would it be, like, weird? What else is there? I am looking for something inexpensive, so each client can pay the exact amount I request.

Thank you!

If you use paypal buttons other than the "donate" one, you will have to specify a price. You would be better off sending your clients invoices through paypal as that will allow you to bill them whatever amount.

I think a donate button would be a simple way to do it. I have one and have sent that page url to someone who wanted to pay for something.

If I remember right, there was another way of wording it when you set it up at paypal, maybe 'tips' or something like that. Of course most delicate social nuances are lost on me anyway, can't be bothered with them. Who cares anyway?

Create a hosted button without a price.

Here is the direct link: https://www.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_web-tools

Paypal will prompt for it at the checkout page.

Feel free to test this button

For services we usually send an invoice from Paypal or 2 checkout.
