Anyone Having Issues With Hostgator?

Hi

I have had db connection problems for hours now. They
say they fix it and then bang. Anyone else having this
issues. It's very frustrating.

    Nope, never had any problems like that with them, but crashes or other technical problems can happen with any host. You are probably on a different server, which is why I'm not seeing the problems you are.

    I'm laughing at the idea of using 1and1 for anything.

    Ben with Hostgator for years now and everything has been working well 99% of that time!

    Have not had any down time or db problems for months (and I have a 3rd party monitor)

    Of course Hostgator has a lot of servers and your problem is most likely a problem that is only affecting the particular server that you are on.


    1and1.com? Things must have really changed there, because I have never heard anyone claim a better experience with 1and1 over Hostgator.

    (excluding the full page ads in PC magazines I see for 1and1.com)

      No.

      Haven't had any problems.

      I've found the support is really good.

      Was with a UK service provider which was considered the best and HG far outstrips it for cost as well.

      Did you have a resellers account or a budget one?

      I have the reseller account - so maybe the type of account may make a difference!

      Anyone else got any opinions on that?

    Have you checked your error logs? Is it "cannot connect to database" or is it something more specific? Do you have your own server, a vps, or shared server?
