Q: re managing Aweber lists

Hi,

Sorry if this question has beed addressed elsewhere in WF, but after a while I found nothing...

I use Aweber, and promote a single product to my list about 3 times a month (in between free info, gifts, surveys etc)

I''m offering a product (to which I'm affiliated) to my list.

Once people have purchased the product, how can I monitor that they have indeed purchased it, and then continue sending them emails - but this time,
offereng a different product. I'm guessing that maybe this involves switching subscribers from one list to another. If so, can this be set up to be done
automatically within Aweber?

Setting up a separate (or additional) list isn't my problem, it's recognising when, and how, to switch subscribers from one list to another.

i.e I want to build a list in the sense of a product funnel, but to market affiliate products instead. I know I could set up a review site, easily, but I'd
really rather not, as don't have the time. If a review site really is the best option, can anyone suggest a link to a good, low maintenance (free, or cheap) template they'd
recommend please.

Thanks
Ian

    Hi Ian,

if you get the customers to sign up to a new list you can set aweber to automatically unsubscribe them from the old one,

    cheers,

There's a feature in aweber where you can automatically
unsubscribe a person from a list as soon as he subscribes
    to another list of yours.

But you can't do this if the product you're promoting is an affiliate offer, since
you're not in control of what happens after the prospect makes the purchase.

So, roughly speaking, I'm assuming the only way I can monitor a sale from list #1 is to see evidence of the purchase in my PayPal account, which would by definition, be a sale of my own product. And only then can I activate a prompt for that subscriber to swap to list #2 in Aweber.

Surely someone must have written (or could write) some software that does all this on auto mode for any products, irrespective of them being one's own or affiliate ones...

      an ideas, you software whizzkids???

This could get very complicated, which is probably why it hasn't really been done.
Just think if you were promoting affiliate products to a list of say 1000,
Every week you offer a different promotion, with in a year you would now have your list of 1000 broken down into 53 different lists, even if only one customer purchased one of the products. Managing those lists would be time consuming.
If you are on any lists yourself you will notice that you still get emails promoting certain products you have already purchased. At first i used to think why is this guy sending me these emails when I have already purchased their product. Then I realized it is just a fact of the email automation cycle.

The best way to automate everything is to go ahead and set-up that second list in Aweber. In Aweber go to My Lists ->Automation, then set it up to unsubscribe the lead from the old list when they subscribe to the new list.

Now set up your thank you page in Paypal to lead to a page that tells the buyer that they must submit their name and email address to access the download area. Or you can simply use software like DL guard which integrates with Aweber and Paypal. You can set DL guard up so that when someone purchases your product they will be subscribed to the new list, and because you already set the automation rules in Aweber, they would automatically be unsubscribed from the old list.
