ecovers, any recommendations?

I'm looking for some software that I can use to create ecovers? Anyone got any recommendations?

How difficult are these to use? Is it as simple as taking a illustrator or
photoshop file and opening it in the program?

I normally outsource that job...but in the past I have used Online eBook Cover Software - Generate eCover for eBooks and Softwares and it's really easy to use....and you don't even need to use photoshop...hope this helps...

There are lots of action scripts available for photoshop.

They are quite easy to use but not that easy to make them look good unless you have some design skills.

Give one of those online generators like secrets2010 mentioned above and see if you have an aptitude for designing before forking out for the software.

Thanks guys, I will check that link out.
I did post a job on guru but they all wanted $200 for this job. I'm all for outsourcing but I think bids like that for this job are absurd!

Checkout the WSO section. There are usually a few warriors offering ecover creation services at reduced rates.

The best option is using e-cover action scripts, but you need to have Photoshop.

Another option is by getting e-cover templates, and edit them using any graphic editors.

It will be difficult for 1st timer...that i can assure, but, if you are pursuing on making ecovers for a career....it will be a fruitful endeavor. About the difficulty, yes, a bit difficult.

But if you have a project ebook and you want to build ecover, i suggest you outsource it, much cheaper, faster, and not too time consuming....

Hit me up, i can help you either way....

There are a lot of action scripts out there that you can buy or use that will do this for you. Cover Action Pro is amazing, but its not cheap and it runs using Photoshop. No matter what in my opinion you still need to understand the principles of good design if you want it to look good and in increase your potential for more sells.

There are a lot of people you can hire to do this for you cheap and fast here on WF. Since time is money maybe you should farm it out, rather then buy a script and the program to use it in and doing it your self. You also may get someone who will give you the right design and look that will help sell its self. Just something to consider.

If Mr. Otto is willing to give you his time for free you should take him up on it. If you need help with refining your look, email me. I’ll give you my professional opinion and help you visually target your market.

Good design is more than communication and looking good. It should evoke a call to action.

    Good luck.

Yeh, photoshop action scripts can be invaluable but you need to have some design skills at least.

Failing that, look for an affordable designer who does good designs. There are tons of ecover design services in the warriors for hire section. *teams* of designers churning this stuff out every day.

Even if you do have a flair for design, it can save you a lot of time outsourcing stuff like this.
