One more vote for KompoZer. It's free. And there is a portable version (no install necessary and you can carry it on your USB stick) courtesy of PortableApps.com: KompoZer Portable & Nvu Portable | PortableApps.com - Portable software for USB drives

And use CSS instead of countless tables.

If you have the money, I highly recommend Dreamweaver. I love working in the split screen environment, with the code above and the WYSIWYG below.

HINT: What you see is most certainly not always what you get.

Waaaaay back in the day (and I am dating myself here) I began using Homesite. Which Macromdedia later bought, and then Macromedia owned Dreamweaver so I made the switch. OF course now Dreamweaver is an Adobe product.

I hear good things abotu Xsite pro, but have not found the time to give it a good test.

Thats why my templates I not only use css but I also use a config file.. For example on the current WSO (No I am not self promoting) I have a sales template included in the package that includes a config file for the reseller to easily add meta tags, sitename, site url, and etc .. Just open the config in a text editor and edit, save, and then upload..

Dreamweaver or front page, depending on what I'm doing.

I use front page for quick editing, dreamweaver if I'm creating a site from the bottom up.
