Looking for ideas in home maintenance niche

Hi fello warriors. I have a small problem here. I am looking to start a list from a business that has not always been online until now.It is in the home maintenance niche,Unfortunately there are not alot of unique ideas up for grabs to give away as part of the initial list builder.

I am looking for an idea to give away online as a service or how to book or hot tips, etc. to get new comers to sign up for my list to actually recieve my new "tip of the week" email follow up..There are a ton of typical home maintenance lists out there to sign up with, but they are all about the same..

I need something slightly different and maybe a little bit more effective...

    I'm not clear from your post who you're targeting to join your list - homeowners who might want your home maintenance services, DIY-ers, people who run home maintenance businesses? Your target market will drive the freebie that will work best for getting them to sign up.

      I am actually looking for homeowners in general and not necessarily the diy ers..I am actually looking to expand from the home maintenance company an additional home warranty business..And it is the home warranty that i am trying to sell....or promote..To the new list

    Seems like anything about saving money on home repairs/maintenance would work with this niche, whether it's a "Money Saving Tip of the Day" or a free ebook or something.

    How about something like a Free Home Maintenance Checklist for subscribers?

    You can create a pdf they can dowload with categories for all the major areas of the house where home maintenance issues occur along with suggested recommendations for service and maintenance.

    Example:

    Fire Detectors - check quarterly
    Rain Spouts -
    Water Heater - Check annually, replace every ___ years
    Clean coils on Refrigerator - once a year
    Fire Place -
    Septic Tank -
    etc....


    If the Home Warranty includes any of the annual checks/maintenance - then you can mention that in the document to plant the seed. Also, if you list the likely cost of the repair if an item fails (without being under warranty) then the importance and value of a home warranty can also be suggested.

    Wow these are some great ideas already,Thanks...As far as the value or the cost of such a home warranty can vary dramatically.Starting at as low as $29.bucks a month but the ideal or platinum package that we push to sell over any other option runs around $600 a year in which can be broken down into 12 monthly payments at 0% interest...Covers almost everything you can imagine in all 4 of your homes systems:Electrical,Plumbing,Hvac and appliances...And of course "if we cant repair it then we will replace it guarantee"

    The home warranty industry is a little saturated out west.But i find in new england that there is not as much clutter when it comes to competition.Local competition at least,These companies out west offer their services on the east coast as well but they are merely call centers in which call local contractors on the east coast to perform the task..
