What Happens When Your Passion Is In A Very Competative Niche

I have been told and read quite a few times that when searching for a niche to blog about that it is easier to focus on something that interest you.

Well I have 2 subjects in mind that I am very passionate about and know quite a bit on,but they are in a very competative niche.

My question is:

What do you do then? Do you go for it,or give it a miss?

Any advice and tips would be very welcoming.

Kind regards

Colin

    Hey,

Go for it! If you're passionate, then it'll come through, and you'll be ahead of the curve with your content (which will be a step up from the 99% of people who are in that niche just to make a buck).

You can also find people with well-known blogs in those niches and offer to write guest posts for them, with a link to your own squeeze page or blog at the end of the post. Or, a lot of times you can pay them to do a solo mailing to their list for you (can be a quick way to jump up a few hundred subscribers quickly).

This is really targeted traffic too. So even if PPC and SEO are super-competitive, there are a few more "under the radar" ways to still get yourself out there.

    Hope this helped!

      He happy!

A lot of people make a lot of money in those types of niches. Why do you think it is so competitive?

You need to dig further... Maybe into sub niches within the main niche.

This is a great opportunity for you.

You will have a lot of people to study from in terms of marketing and their sales funnels.

A lot of people are not passionate in these niches. It will be easier for you to capitalize on what your competition is doing wrong to make yourself stand out.

Do some research and things will start presenting themselves as opportunities.

              Dont do that

Put your keyword in google with no qoutes then look at the first page listings only. Thats your competition as the first page is where you want to be

Now look at those first page listings and check if they are an authority site, how many backlinks etc, basically, could you outrank them?

My personal opinion is that there are always those in a niche ahead of you. If you're passionate and patient you CAN rise to the top though. Also, consider thinking about your sub-niche. If you can find a niche within a niche you can usually dominate that.

For example, I'm passionate and educated about a particular type of diet for health and fitness. My first product is a niche application of that diet to an under-served market within the market. As Michael Port says: "Become a big fish in a small pond and you will get plenty of invitations to swim in other ponds."

You passion and determination should lead the way. Seriously dont think of it as a way to make money but like you said as your passion. Alot of people fail because they think they can spam a few ads and fill it with adsense and its a magic button but like any job you have to have a passion for it.

Personally, I prefer to go for a sub-niche or smaller niche where it's easy to dominate. I don't want to compete with those who have thousands of links to their sites and have a pretty good grip on the first page of Google. Too much work.

Narrow in on a smaller sub-niche of the one you're passionate about. If you're passionate about weight loss, maybe you can target something like "getting rid of upper arm fat". It'll be much easier to succeed than taking on "weight loss" as a whole, and you'll still get to work on something you're passionate about.

Who will go for "getting rid of upper arm fat"?????
Just put weight loss in google without quotes and check the competitors sites.
Your Real worth is there when u get succeed in puting your site on google page 1 raking 1,2 or 3 on "weight loss".
Shortcut is no the surety of succession.Excellence is the real thing nor the Success.
But success is something which is not possible without excellence.
Convert your weakness into your power except sorting out easy ways to solve problems.
