Ok, so this is very basic idea to target Business Professionals and wouldn't mind getting some WARRIOR input from everyone who has a few nickles to share. I haven't figured out my costs fully yet, but I do believe that for a maximum of $100 (my cost I can offer this service. I want to build some residual income in the mobile marketplace.

    Hi Mitch,

    Just to clarify...

...is this your 'business plan' that you are thinking of working on and you're looking for feedback / suggestions?

Don't want to step on your toes if I throw my 2 cents in...

Okay, yes think its really THE time to get in and start learning all about the Mobile market and the technologies that are developing... especially the 2 main ones that we can focus on as warriors...

    1.) Mobile websites

    and

    2.) SMS texting

In your plan, I think if you are going to target a higher quality market of businesses like that, then you should NOT be pricing yourself at $200... I would only do as low as $200 for a mobile website setup for a regular mom and pop shop. If you had a potential client in these markets and they have a 'regular' website already the first thing I would try to get an idea on is how much did they pay to get the website build and what are / or were they paying for monthly hosting & maintenance?

If they paid $5k for a website setup and its a decent job but its lacking some things that you as a Warrior can bring to the table, then tell him you can get him a .MOBI version of his business website setup for just $799.

Why would she or he blink at 800 if they paid 5k for a regular site, right? Now of course you could allow for some play in there but if the numbers are high I would definitely say to shoot for at least 599-799 as a min for high end professionals like these. And then a good monthly for the "hosting and maintenance".

Thats my thought on ONE service to get started with...

..the SECOND service would be for doing the mobile SMS text advertising and I would definitely do these as 2 different packages. Sure you could "roll it" into one monthly service payment to you, but have them understand that the setup for each is 2 different projects, etc.

Through the WF I found a WSO that started in May through WF member WarriorTX with a $19.95 deal on SMS texting through DFWAD.com. You get to choose 1 keyword and then you get to do unlimited # of text messages to send for the account. That part is great and the main website the service was now going for $39.95 per month last time I checked. She now has a NEW WSO for the same service, BUT this is like a whitelisting type of deal where you get their backend office setup and you can say choose to get a package with 10 or 100 or 1000 keywords to sell other businesses as if the system was your own.

What this means is with my current sms account, I got the keyword 'gambler' as one of my clients has a sports investing website and wanted to try this texting to potential customers/clients out. So visitors to his site at Sports Gambling Investing will see the banner I made at the top of the pages. They are instructed to text "dfwad gambler" to DOTCOM (368266) to get on the sms text list for 'gambler'. Now anytime I go in to the account and change the text message as soon as I say its broadcast out to everyone currently subscribed.

Anyone that is new to the signup gets whatever message is sitting in there at the time of setup. So in the case of the gamblers info the current info was the "Free Friday pick" that I updated on Friday morning. Anyone who signs up over the weekend through this coming week will still get that same 5/28 text message thats sitting there.

Now here are the pitfalls I have with the DFWAD service so far...

    1) The example texts used in the sales letter (ie., coupon special, business update, house listing info, whatever there are 4 pictures of 'text messages' seen on the salesletter info) all have 155-160 characters BUT inside the back office we can ONLY put in a max of like 133 or 135 characters including spaces. That amount of shortage makes a big difference in what you are trying to communicate with the text message. Supposedly according to warriortx they were going to look into offering more space for messages.

    2) On initial signup to the list you have to get like 6 messages, so of which is pretty redundant and not needed in my opinion.

    3) they added an image option to go out with the text message but if you have a basic cellphone like me and not a better graphical viewing one the message comes with the image url link all spelled out as the first part of the message. well so now most of the message just shows a link and then the start of the text but then get a 2nd message with the rest of it.

Even on messages that are less than the 135 characters, they always add 'dfwad gambler' (aka MY account info) to the end of the message so now that my text was about maxed out, I get a 2nd message just to say it was from 'dfwad gambler'...? Kinda annoying.

So anyhow, I am still trying to check into a number of services out there that you can use their service like it was your own to sell local businesses on, since i've not been completely happy with the limitations of dfwad so far...

Oh another thought back on the high end niches you mention. What would they need the texting marketing type of service for? Restaurants? yes. Bars? yes, I get one EVERY friday that usually gives me a 'no cover charge at the door for you and 3 other guests' kinda text. But a lawyer? Doctor?
The only initial thought I have for these that my wife Lynn came up with a couple of weeks ago (she is an RN) was that for the medical field you could use the texting to do appointment reminders WITHOUT having to spend money on the usual postcard mailers and/or office calling you manual to remind you of your upcoming appointment. The downside is 1.) you'd have to be a part of a service that was able to keep a full database of your subscribers and 2) how would you allow the receptionist or office person to get access to send an individual text to just that one person with their appointment details? Cuz the main services I have seen is more of just a "broadcast" type of deal. Would you use Aweber to go in to an email list of 2,000 and send just 1 email out to each specific customer? so there would have to be a sort of system in place that could manage individual patients info like this for a sms texting 'appointment reminder' service.

Okay, think I just wrote a book...

...hopefully I have helped to get some more thoughts going and shared something useful.

    Please keep me posted.

        Hi BA,

        What is "Bluetooth Marketing"...?
Is this same as SMS Text marketing?

Would like to know your insights...

I do believe using bluetooth on a mobile device is close to spam messages, no?

They call it proximity marketing which if enabled with the business owner (they need software installed and configured) it tries to find bluetooth signal from mobile devices and sends them messages.

I don't believe it is opt-in, unless it sends the response with a opt-in option during the first message.

As for bluetooth, if you see people with earsets hanging out of their ear and they have an iphone or blackberry, they more than likely have it synched up to their phone through bluetooth signal so they don't have to use their phone.

            Hi Mitch,

            Thanks for the additional input...

...I only knew "bluetooth" as using the hands free ear piece with a cellphone.

Never heard of this extra 'unsolicited' message type of attack on bluetooth proximity. Has this been around awhile?

            Thanks,

    Hey Mitch,

Also went back to your original post that you had updated...

...are you doing all this yourself and this 'outline' is what you want to build to target towards Business Professionals and these are what you think the various steps / services would be?

    OR

Are you saying that this is what all you can do and you can help provide a lot of the background grunt work of these various services to Warriors who 'hire' you out in doing these things for them on behalf of their own clients?

Want to make sure I'm on the same page with you in fleshing out these options in the Mobile Market! Also definitely want to get your feedback on the SMS Texting and Coupon ads options.

Please PM when you get a chance Mitch.

    Thanks,
    Jerold

Not sure about all the details of proximity marketing however, if its unsolicited I'm not that big a fan. I do see however where maybe at a local event something like this might be a good idea. Maybe to get details of events etc.

I do believe the unscrupulous marketer would use this in a not so friendly kinda way. www dot ad-pods dot com has device that I think could be both beneficial yet in the wrong hands somewhat annoying to the general public. I'm not affiliated with that website either.

Do some google searches on proximity marketing, bluetooth marketing etc and you'll have lots to read.
