"Phrase Results" greater than Broad Results !?

INTERNET MARKETING

I 'm doing some KW research and checking search results in Google.

I've just discovered than for some terms, the number of pages results for the search term "in quotes" is GREATER than the term without quotes!? This doesn't make sense.

Can anyone offer any suggestions as to what is happening here?

That's not been my experience. Are you looking at a very competitive or uncompetitive term?

  That happens. The results you get from Google are not accurate results - just estimates, so sometimes you will get what you are seeing.

  Sara - Thanks for the extremely valuable tip! Now when I check my keywords I'm getting a much lower figure.
  
  It makes me wonder how many keywords I have rejected in the past , before I knew about this, that may have been golden! Oh well, better late than never!
