Ok I was wondering who do you consider the "King Of Email Marketing".

I am in the process of learning the ins and outs of email marketing, basically it's going to be my little self taught college course on email marketing.....

But i need to know who is the email marketing guru..
who is the #1 guy known as a bad ass when it comes to list building and email marketing...

please take action...and chime in, thanks.

the listbuilding king is that marketer with a big list of subscribers and that has gets their subscribers to open his emails....

I am on many lists...mainly from the gurus of the industry...and I always open the emails from Eric Holmund, from erictips...why? because he always gives free quality content for free..he gives away a lot of value...for me he is the king in email marketing...

however im sure there are other marketeres with bigger lists they built with joint ventures or another strategy...and i am on their list...but i rarely open their emails....

Mike Filsaime must surely have one of the biggest lists.

surely yes...but for me the king is eric...because i open almost his emails...also almost all from armand morin...by the way it seems armand doese't do so many joint ventures...i d like to know how he builds such a big list..i think his reputation and word of mouth has helped a lot...

Armand and a lot of IM speakers build their lists through speaking/training. They go to a crowd of 5,000 for eg and conduct 1 and 1/2 to 2 hours of training and then they upsell their courses. They also offer links to their squeeze pages for the audience to get freebies during their presentations. That's a very quick, leveraged way to build a big list.

Mmmm I think a lot of Jit Uppal ... in terms of building a huge list very fast and making a lot of money from what looks like a very easy business model to follow.

I obviously don't know what's going on behind the scenes and it's probably not everyone's cup of tea ... but he's got a wicked system on the go.

In reference to Mike F, you're right. Came off his list very quick. Offered nothing.

But he's highly respected it seems. Different strokes for different folks, I guess.

he's respected because he has a massive list and has so many products and paydotcom and so on i guess...so everybody would love to partner with him...but that doesent mean that you will learn more from him than another guy...you can learn by seeing what he is doing...but he is not going to teach it for free...

Kinda off topic but I bet the marketers with the biggest
lists don't go around selling themselves as a guru.

As for 'list relationships', check out any of the stuff put
out by Andre Chaperon. It's really great.

Its not the guy with the biggest list that wins. Its what he/she does with that list - his/her relationship to the list. Kern, for instance, has one list with only about 30k names on it. But they are very responsive to anything he sends out. In fact he's getting to the point where he can just say "Buy this" - and they will. So a list like that is worth far more than a list of 400k that could care less about your pitch.

Jimmy D Brown, and all around cool guy that makes huge money off his list without "hype". He wrote the book "list profit building" or something like that, apparently he makes 7 figures a year off his products / list building strategy.

+1. Jimmy was building lists (and teaching others how to do it) before most of us even heard of internet marketing.

I believe that by far the best email marketer on the planet
is either Frank Kern or Ryan Deiss.

These guys spend a lot of time and money on their lists
and most of their subscribers are buyers..not freebie seekers.

They have a talent of building lists full of people who want to
buy from them ...all the time!

What is the criteria for being the "email marketing king"?

Is it the subscriber's opinion of your emails or is it how much money you make from your list?

Exactly you hit the nail dead on the head....thats what im looking for the guy who does the best job at marketing to their list. the best job at building a relationship and authority with their list. as well as one who is also able to build a decent size list....

so what im starting to see is that frank kern and ryan deiss and jimmy d brown, and clayton makepeace seem to be the people i need to be studying....

if you want to be the best you need to learn from the best....

pretty much who is known for growing the largest list and making the most money from them....or this can be re-stated as the guy who is best at listbuilding and relationship building..i think the person who is the best at those two things will be the person who makes the most money!

I've had the luck to witness some behind the scenes launch data and some of the people ontop of the charts for sales based on their list prowess are (in no particular order):

    Shawn Casey
    &
    Jeff Dedrick

There are several others in the big-name-guru crowd that can rock it but it really depends on the frequency of their mailings, bonuses offered, and to which of their lists they choose to put the offer in front of...some reserve their 'best lists' for different stuff.

I know a few people who do not care to be teachers who are making millions building lists. Lot of underground marketers that know one knows about. For List building I have learned a lot from Andre Chaperon. I would suggest his material to anyone.

He gives the best advice on building a list and does not promote hardly

My vote goes to Frank Kern. His last launch was "List Control". He wrote the email series for several multi-million dollar launches including StompterNet and Pipeline profits. If it's about communicating a message that results in sales to an email list, it's gonna be Frank imo.

Personally I kinda like Chris Farrell. I think he's very down to earth. I'm a British person and so I dont really respond to people who give a lot of hype. Chris Farrell does it for me. Very nice guy. Has a great balance between content and just actually getting to know his list.

May I say that you shouldnt ignore social media for building your list as well. I've heard that Katie Freiling's stuff on social media is pretty kl.

I'd say Brad Callen And his brother Matt are 2 of the more "silent" killer list builders that have managed to create HUGE responsive lists. I know this for a fact because... well, I'm Brad's aff manager. Another fellow warrior who does a great job with Listbuilding and who has a new killer WSO is David Eisner. I'm reading his course email marketing revolution right now and it is very good. His personality really shines through in his emails showing you that he actually cares about you and just doesn't want to sell you stuff.

So very subjective...I can strongly agree and just as strongly disagree w/many people's names listed above. But if you want to be "self-taught" and learn the "ins and outs of email marketing", then who "we" think is the best won't really help you as much.

whose emails resonate w/YOU? and WHY? answer this for yourself and model yours after him or her...

whose emails do NOT resonate w/you and WHY NOT? do NOT model after them...

whose emails do you open? vs. whose do you ignore?

    Make sense?

Enrich your list and you will definitely make money , If you send you list freebies and proven methods that will make them money you will reap the rewards, if you send them unproven offers just to make a fast buck you are setting yourself up to fail.
