Please tell me your favorite EZA alternative - I need your input

I'm not going to start another rant about EZA, that's become only too common recently. However, I am fed up with them and I would love the input of my fellow warriors on your favorite alternatives.

I would love a directory with decent PR, that shows up well in search engines, allows pen names, and doesn't make your authors resource box virtually un-clickable by separating it from your article and surrounding it by ads. It would also be nice if the directory gave stats like EZA does about views and click throughs.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

I've had a lot of luck and traffic with Goarticles.

Article marketer and Isnare are also good alternatives for wide distribution, but those are not free.

Here is a free one: http://www.articleunited.com/signup.php

My new alternative to EZA is my own blog. I have yet to find an article
directory that even comes close to them. But I am taking quite a few of
the articles I have written and am beginning to place them on my blog daily.

Eventually, I will have enough there that it's going to start to make a dent
      in the SEs.

But directory alternatives? I can't say I've found one that makes it worth
while unless you're simply going to do mass submissions across the board.
Otherwise, I don't see you getting much traffic.

      Best,
I agree 100% here. I like GoArticles and Article Dashboard.

I have also had good results with Go Articles. Article Dashboard and Searchwarp are pretty good choices also.

My favorite other than EZA is Go Articles, though. You might give it a try!

When I post to go articles I can put in whatever pen name I want but if someone clicks my profile link it goes to one profile with all of my different pen names and niches.

Should I set up multiple accounts at Goarticles for different pen names? And do they show any kind of stats?

EzineArticles are #1 for a reason, dude.

Why not submit to them AND other directories?

I really don't understand everyone's problem with EZA. They have made me a decent amount of money. And I have never had an article disapproved (placed in problem status accidentally though).

If you write good articles you honestly shouldn't have a problem.

I agree with Steve, the best alternative is to put it on your own site, IMO.

Lately when I've submitted there 1/2 of my articles get rejected for BS reasons. I've never had problems with rejections before but lately it's not worth the time and effort to submit - wait - and get rejected only to try to figure out what they want so I can re-submit.

I liked EZA very much but getting rejected for broken links (that are not broken) or the new automated "your article is too similar to another article" rejection are making it so that it's not worth it.

got that "your article is..." error 7 times now..most of them because I had 1-2 sentences in the entire 500 word article that were almost the same...really looking for other stuff.

That's exactly what I'm talking about.

No offense to Dan but "if your articles are good you shouldn't have a problem" may have been true a month or two ago but my articles now are just as good as they were before and I never had problems being rejected before.

I too have had a couple accidentally put in problem status and after contacting them I actually received an apology. But recently 1/2 of my stuff is rejected for reasons that don't make any sence to me, even after reading and re-reading their TOS.

I am new at this article stuff and I just today had my tenth article approved (after correcting some stupid stuff) by them. I figured that if I was going to continue with this as everyone has told me to, I need to get my account upgraded so I clicked the link to upgrade. They asked me why I should be upgraded? What the hell? So I can submit more articles, why the hell else would they think I wanted it upgraded. But somehow I don't think that is what they are looking for in my answer/request. Anyone have any input on what kind of answer I should give? From my experience, a wrong answer will get me blocked from submitting more articles, which would not be in my best interest I think.

I've submitted 15....250 word articles without any issues.

Maybe turn your 500 word articles into 250 words and you may have have double the articles and less problems

Let's get back on track here. What's your favorite alternative?

I know EZA is numero uno but let's assume EZA vanished without a trace, where would you submit and why? I'm looking for good alternatives.

I think my plan for now will be to try EZA and if it gets rejected, submit to other article directories, several free blogs, rss feeds etc. all with backlinks to my main site and try to use the article for SEO.

How about your own website or blog? I mean, you control exactly what you put on your own site.

If you target the right keyword phrases and update it regularly, you should have no problems ranking in the directories.

    Tim,

They want you to tell them why you DESERVE Platinum status - aka the quality of your submissions, the value you bring their visitors, the fact you try and make it easy on EZA staff etc.

To those of you who are getting your articles disapproved... just email them and ask them to tell you exactly what's wrong with the article. Usually in a day or two they'll get back to you, approve the article, and apologize.

It's easy to go down the road of "principle" here, thinking that EZA are fascists who are on a power trip. IMHO they're just not very good at their job sometimes (judging on the amount of incorrectly placed submissions I've had). It takes thirty seconds to write them an email and then you're done.

A hell of a lot easier than submitting to ten other directories to get the same benefits. Not that you shouldn't do that as well, but EZA is a great return on investment of time.

I use EZA and go articles in correlation with my personal blog.
I havent had any troubles with EZA. It is somewhat inconvenient that you signature info is so far to the bottom but if someone wants to know who you are and more info about you or your company. The point is to write compelling articles and let that speak for you. If you write well enough and people see you as a person of authority they will want to seek out more info about you.
I personally have had 128 people sign up for my newsletter and opt-in to my list, all from EZA.

We have been using Peter Drew's BadAss article marketing which is now a part of his fightclubseo and it has worked great for us and is easy to use.

I use it every week for the last several months and we are very happy. Peter has also been great to respond to questions.

Adam, I think you have your answer. I understand you are fed up with Ezine Articles and absolutely don't want to use them anymore. Your next alternative is to go with GoArticles. I find them to be easy to use without all the politics that can be associated with Ezine Articles. That's your answer. Of course, there are other ways to direct traffic to your site, but it's best to diversify your efforts to get the most results (as you may know).

So, there you have it. Submit to Go Articles. Use different pen names, if you choose and go for it.

Do you use a different account for each pen name? The reason I ask is because if someone clicks on my profile link they can see all of my pen names and all of my niches that I am marketing.

        My opinion, but...

I would stay away from GoArticles right now. Although some may still be getting good results, overall the results have been pretty bad lately and getting worse as far as organic traffic...I mean A LOT worse.

Another one I'd stay away from right now is ArticleDashboard...for the exact same reason.

Just take an hour out of your day and do some research on ADs you are interested in.

Just an FYI - there is a lot more to choosing where to submit your articles. Shoot me a PM and I'll give you details. It's just way too much for me to type here. LOL
