Dear Fellow Warriors,

This is a continuation of the (now Archived/locked) Thread I began in the Original Warrior Forum at:

The Warrior Forum - How Much do You Pay? ...

for which I would again like to Thank all of you that previously responded to that Thread / on this Topic again!

I am soon going to be giving a Presentation to the SpaceTech Chapter of the Society for Technical Communication on the Topic of "How to Make Money Writing Online", in which I plan to Refer all of these Writers to the Warrior Forum as one of The Best places to both learn more about "How to Make Money Writing Online" and to find opportunities to "Make Money Writing Online", ok?

So ...

Here is Your Opportunity to convey to these Writers both your requirements and preferences regarding what you want / are looking for in and to establish some ranges of rates for various types of Writings, ok?

Firstly, I could us some more input (/ data points) as to what range of Rates you have / would pay for:
5) Press Releases?
6) Business Plans?
7) Grants?

Next, do you or are you willing to Pay More for "ghostwritten" articles / materials wherein you may publish them under your name / byline, with no reference or credit to the original writer? And if so, how much more do you or are you willing to Pay More for "ghostwritten" articles / materials versus those wherein the original writers name, byline and/or URL is "credited"?

What other Factors Determine the Rates you are willing to pay a Writer for a particular type of Writing?
E.g.
- Is Native English speaking important to you?
- References / Testimonials?
- Credentials / Expertise in the subject area(s) of the Topic(s) of your writings?
- How about knowledge of "keyword density" and/or other SEO / IM techniques?
- Track record of minimal editing required / High Quality Writing for You?

--- If so, then after how many low maintenance / High Quality pieces would you being willing to Raise their Rates? And by how much?

What else helps you Determine the Rates you are willing to pay a Writer for a particular type of Writing?

Again, Here is a Great Opportunity for You All to communicate to a Number of Writers ...

What You Want in Your Writings!

And What You are willing to pay for these types of Writings!, you know?

Any and All of your responses and input in these regards would be Most Helpful and Greatly Appreciated! , ok?

Thank you all for all of your participation and help! and Have a Great Day!

    Dear Fellow Warriors,

Since, I very soon have to "bear down and focus" on preparing my aforementioned Presentation to the SpaceTech Chapter of the Society for Technical Communication on the Topic of "How to Make Money Writing Online", in which I plan to Refer all of these Writers to the Warrior Forum as one of The Best places to both learn more about "How to Make Money Writing Online" and to find opportunities to "Make Money Writing Online", ok?

and I could still use some more input (/data points) as to ...

    1) What range of Rates you have / would pay for:
    a) Press Releases?
    b) Business Plans?
    d) Grants?
    d) e-Books?
    2) Next, do you or are you willing to Pay More for "ghostwritten" articles / materials wherein you may publish them under your name / byline, with no reference or credit to the original writer? And if so, how much more do you or are you willing to Pay More for "ghostwritten" articles / materials versus those wherein the original writers name, byline and/or URL is "credited"?

    And ...

    3) What other Factors Determine the Rates you are willing to pay a Writer for a particular type of Writing?
    E.g.

    - References / Testimonials?
    - Credentials / Expertise in the subject area(s) of the Topic(s) of your writings?

    4) What else helps you Determine the Rates you are willing to pay a Writer for a particular type of Writing?

    And, Finally, ...

    5) Would you be willing to Pay More (and if so, How Much More?), in terms of dollar ($) value, for any of these types of Writing if the Writer was willing to trade their writing services/writings in exchange from some products and/or services, of equal value, that you had to offer in exchange?
(Conversely, as a Writer ... Would you request/require More (and if so, How Much More?) in terms of dollar ($) value, for any of these types of Your Writings / writing services in exchange from some products and/or services, of equal value? )

Again, Here is a Great Opportunity for You All to communicate to a Number of Writers ...

Below based on experience and MHO:

        a) Press Releases? ($125 - $150)

        b) Business Plans? (paid $16,000 including the financials, but it was worth about $5,000 and I can still feel the burn)

        d) e-Books? ($10 - $45 per page. $10 for general writing and $45 for PhDs and highly technical writing. Super high quality copywriting for sales copy/landing pages etc... the sky is the limit)

I pay what the writer is worth, ghostwriting or not. Depending on the qualifications of the ghostwriter you way want to use the writer's credentials as a co-author. Make certain you have a solid "work for fee" contract (best to consult an attorney for this arrangement). You should also file a copy of the completed work as your own at your country's copyright office. The ghostwriter should be made aware of these prior to awarding the job.

The following are the situation for me:

        - Is Native English speaking important to you? (Critical)
        - References / Testimonials? (Very important. I don't aware work to a writer without reviewing samples of work that are related to my topic)

        - Credentials / Expertise in the subject area(s) of the Topic(s) of your writings? (The more technical the writing assignment the more critical it is for the writer to have a high level of expertise with the topic)

        - How about knowledge of "keyword density" and/or other SEO / IM techniques? (For web content I include the main keyword phrase in the article title/blog post/etc. I do the remaining SEO. Writers shouldn't be expected to be SEO experts, but I do take notice and factor in when a writer offers keyword analysis selection with appropriate densities)

        - Track record of minimal editing required / High Quality Writing for You? (My wife does the final edit, so she gives me the scoop on how much effort we have to put in to finish the document. Lots of edits and the document goes back to the writer to finish. If the writer does not have the ability to improve the document they won't receive additional assignments.

--- If so, then after how many low maintenance / High Quality pieces would you being willing to Raise their Rates? And by how much?
The writer is a contractor and set their own rates or they bid on jobs. I don't dictate the rates. If one of my high quality writers gets bogged down with other clients I would be willing to offer up up to 10% - 15% increase for priority status.

        4) What else helps you Determine the Rates you are willing to pay a Writer for a particular type of Writing? (experience I think. Another option I have used is to visit the freelance writer websites and check on bids for projects that are related to mine and then check on the portfolio of the bidders to compare quality to price)

        Just my 2 cents.
