Once you've built a list...

What do you keep marketing to them?

There's plenty of courses out there teaching you how to build a list, but how can you keep thinking of things to sell to them?

That's been my biggest problem, especially when it's a niche market, and not many products already out there.

Any ideas?

I don't know in which niche you are but give them free tips and advices. Create your own product and sell it to them?

Well you have to keep providing them with good valuable info as well as marketing to them. In terms of what to market to them, you should look to try and move them through a funnel to higher end products eg Ebook>MP3>Teleseminar>Webinar>Video>Home Study Course>Live Seminar>Coaching

Now you cant do this in every niche so perhaps promote Affiliate offers of similar products or think a bit more laterally to things which might be related indirectly

      That's a great idea.

Gradually going from a low end product, to a higher one, as the trust builds.

      Nice!

It will depend completely on the niche. I am involved in many niches right now and all of them are through email marketing campaigns. Some of them are very targeted niches that only have one probable product available and others are like IM where the hard part is finding a product worth promoting.

When it comes to the very targeted niches that have very little in product choice, sometimes its just best to set up an automatic funnel that will promote the one product multiple times. Sometimes you can find some related products out there that you can talk about, but in some niches there will be only one choice.

Just get those smaller niches set on autopilot and move on to the next one. It's going to be a game of driving new traffic in each day instead of building a long term relationship.

You could always start creating small products that would help your readers even more.

Start asking them what they want and you will start to see your sales increase! You can send them out a survey using survey monkey. Then create a product around their needs/outsource the product creation. This will work really well if you have a relatively responsive list, irrespective of size. Then add your product to clickbank so others in that niche will be able to promote it for you.

You can promote them related products for example if your niche is muscle building you could offer them some how to talk to women product...

You could also just drive them to your sites to make money with adsense or so..

Well, when you've got a list, it doesn't mean that you've got to keep selling them stuff. Nobody likes to continuously have their throats shoved full of stuff.

With my own list(s), sometimes, I tell them outright that if they are not ready, do NOT buy XXXXX product. And I substantiate with reasons.

Offer them freebies. Get them to do surveys to find out what's on their minds. Take them to your FB/Twitter/MySpace or blog. Get them to "get personal" with you.

You could create a new list that is a related market and email your current list the details ...

Some might be interested and join your new list which could give you more revenue streams from the same people without having to email everyone together on something they may or may not like.

I guess what I'm saying is try to find other markets your subscribers are interested and secregate them out a bit.

I always start with relevant freebies & advice - never selling anything (building the trust), then when the time comes it can be anything - in my case either an own product or affiliate one. But the key for longevity is not to overdo it. There is one very well successful online marketer who for ages promised never to promote rubbish - then he did a lot of it in a few months and the credibility crashed

First off, when building your list you want to make sure the information is relevant to the information they signed up for.

Then once they are on your list, start establishing a relationship with them.

You don't have to sell to them over and over.

People will opt out faster than you can say list building.

I would say stick with promoting to them once a week.

Send them good information training and some free stuff.

Make sure the free stuff isn't crap.

Like for instance,if you send them a free ebook.

Read it yourself and judge if it will be good info or if it is just some rehashed garbage.

Point your list to your blog or any other forms of communication you have such as twitter or maybe even facebook.

This way they can easily contact you with any questions they may have.

This is important when establishing friendships.

You can do this by adding your links in your email sig.

If you dont have anything to promote. Go to clickbank and look around for a product that has high grav and pertains to what your promoting to your list.

Buy the product and see if it will be worth promoting to your list.

One common mistake i see alot of list builders do is not test out the product themselves and to me thats a big no no.

What if the product was awful.

This reflects on you and the way you do business.

Keep it clean and honest and test everything out before sending it to your list.

Of course there is alot more to list building but keep it simple and don't confuse yourself.

You have all the time in the world to build a direct and responsive list.
