Guys, I have a question here.

Being new to all of this, I have been nosing around on the internet, only to find tons of "free stuff". Alot of this is PLR articles.

According to the places that I downloaded from, they say I can do what I want with them. Here's my question:

Can I just take them "as is" and submit them if I want? Like I said, all of these places say I can, but is that the norm? is it legal? or are they just old rehashed stuff from someone else out there?

Any insight would be great, thx.

They have usually been used before. When you put them into ezine articles as is you will find out if it is already there. You can rewrite these articles you only need them to be 30% different from the original

Please, be careful with this. Many article directories including EZA will BAN you if you submit known PLR articles, especially if they are unchanged. I read somewhere that EZA keeps rejected articles and compares your submissions, not only with what they have published, but with what they have rejected as well.

A better way to find out if they are used is to put a long phrase from the article in quotes and submit it to the google search. You will then find that paragraph used about 10 or more times almost 100% of the time! -- Yes, I have done that.

The 30% difference rule may or may not work for some article directories as some directories use synonym searches to establish uniqueness of the article.

Read the articles carefully before you publish them anywhere. Many are approaching 10 years old with obsolete information. Following their advice could get you in a bad position with Google, the Article Directories and your customers. Some are spun articles that don't make sense as is, just wait until you see them spun even more.

I spent months sorting through the thousands of free plr articles out there. My conclusion is that they are more than worthless, they can be very costly to use. Any of your potential customers who have been active in the niche for more than a year has seen the crap PLR and they will classify your business according to what you provide.

Read some of the articles on topics you are familiar with. I think you will discover that it will take you less time to write your own articles with current information than to fix those freebies. If you don't have time, for as little as $7.00 you can buy fresh and restricted release PLR articles that contain current information for your customers while keeping your reputation in the good.

I tend to black-list any internet marketer who sells or distributes the crap-PLR and will not buy from them regardless of how good their next product promises to be. After all, they either don't know the difference between what is worthless and what is good, or they knowingly put that garbage out there for their own greedy purposes. Either way, they are not someone I want to risk doing business with. I am not the only one who feels this way.

Zig Ziglar once told the story of a man who came to the store where he worked and made a fantastic sales pitch to the owner. After the pitch, the owner sent the salesman away without a sale. When Zig asked why, the owner replied, "You can't make a good deal with a bad person."

There are some good free PLR articles and books out there, but they are few and far between -- and you need to know how to tell the difference.

      Good luck

Yes PLR means the content can be edited and modified to the owner’s desires, but that still depend to the license that comes with it, and it's legal.

Well if you find PLR articles from a giveaway event or people that give it away for free, then don't just use the articles as is, because a lot of people will do like what you doing, to test it you can copy the articles titles through SE and see how many people has already use the articles, most articles directory will not accept it because it's duplicate content.

If you want to use the articles you should rewrite some part of the articles, to make it a little bit unique and different from others also you can use it as an idea for your writing.

Hi and welcome to the forum.

Not all PLR is the same - some is quality and some is crap. You're wise to start with the terms of service since they're all different, but if they say you can do what you want with them, then you certainly can.

But would you want to? If they're not very well written, then of course you'll want to rewrite them. If it's the good stuff, I always recommend you rewrite PLR even a little so you can add your own keywords, add your personality to make it somewhat unique, and have it conclude where you want it to (point to your product, an affiliate product, another post, etc.)

It really depends on what you want to do with the PLR. Don't start stashing up on it just because it's free; only get it if it's on a topic you're going to use. You can always come back for more later.

Also, even if the PLR TOS says you can do what you want with it, keep in mind article directories such as EzineArticles won't let you submit it to their directory.

There are quite a few Warriors here that sell great PLR and have good reputations so you might want to check them out. And check out the sites where you're getting the free PLR. If they do their own writing or have their own writers and limit the number sold, then it's not old rehashed PLR. If the site has lots of PLR from all over the place and it's being resold, then you don't know how many people have bought it.

Good PLR is a wonderful resource and you can do so much with it. The research has already been done and if you choose to use it you can get from your Point A to Point B much quicker. Depending on the TOS, you can use it for blog posts, a short report for optins, a product to sell, an ecourse or a membership site. You can use it to populate a blog and flip it, turn it into a physical book, podcast, online video, DVD or CD... and a lot more!

    Hope that helps.

    Hi,
You can use PLR material but you can't resell or give it away unless you by the rights (usually a few bucks).
Careful with PLR articles. It's no use to copy and paste them.
I suggest that you use them to give you ideas on what to write.
Spend time creating your unique content and you'll automatically establish your subniche

You can do that, but it's a bad idea. Most free PLR articles have been submitted to death, so the benefit of using them as-is isn't that high. Spin them or rewrite them before submitting instead.
