Anyone here familiar with Freebie Trading?

I received an email a few days ago from a highly respected internet marketer who was sponsoring a freebie trading site.

I admit that it sounds like it could be very lucrative, and at the same time seems to fall below the belt when it comes to honesty...or perhaps I just don't fully understand how it works.

Has anyone here delved into this form of marketing, and if so, how are you doing with it?

I value your opinions very highly. All input will be very much appreciated.

Thanks,
Dixie

This was actually my first crack into internet marketing back in 2008. The freebie trading industry slacked up big time due to fraud of both customers and offer companies. I think I made close to $200 in a couple of days starting with like $40 on the very first day. That was some nice cash just for completing offers and then later teaching others how to do it "PROPERLY" so they won't get burned....and yes I got burned alot by the scammy offers that slide in extra charges as well as getting burned for not reading the TOS of some of the offers.

    This is how it works..
You receive a referral link to sign up on a freebie site by an existing member of the site. Let's say you need 1 full credit to meet the requirements on the site, you would have to complete enough sponsor offers to equal to 1 full credit. Once you complete the required amount of offers to equal to 1 credit, or whatever amount of credits you need, you will then "go green" meaning you have fulfilled the requirements. There is a little more to it though this is the MO of it all.

The person who referred you will then be paid within a few hours or days paypal cash for your green and in turn pays you a percentage of that cashout for your credit. Usually 50-80% of it. This all depends of on the trading agreement between the referrer and referral.

You can then refer other people to that site and be paid over and over. The thing is, you have to be organized, read ALL TOS, choose your offers wisely, use a credit card different from the ones you handle your most important business with, and never ever sign up for the same site or the same offers more than once.

I still dab around with it now, but it is so much slower than it was when I first got into it. You can trust and believe though, as long as you have solid sites under your belt, once you build a portfolio of sites to refer others to, you can just put together a neat little site listing all your sites, instructions on how to complete offers, and still make extra money on the side to invest into bigger things. ( I haven't put together a site yet though).

Right now, the freebie forums are kinda slow still but freebie trading is still alive and well though just a little weak in the knees right now.

This is a form of fraud and should be illegal.

Since when is the incentive marketing sector "fraud"? If that were the case, maxbounty, neverblue, cpalead, adscend media etc. should all be crucified for illegally promoting incentive offers.

Offering an incentive for people to sign up for sponsor offers is not illegal.

Though it is jacked up if a freebie site offers incentives for certain offers when the affiliate network of the offer companies doesn't honor incentivized traffic then turns and revokes the credits from the referral.

You have it twisted somewhere if you think the whole business of freebie trading is illegal. Hell I got burned plenty of times personally, some my fault and some was the fault of a few offer companies but I do know that the business is not an illegal one.

Tons of people used this method with the intent on cancelling whatever they signed up for right after they received the reward. That’s not real incentive marketing which offers a reward to a surfer for legitimately trying an offer. Signing up for an ad campaign solely for the payout from the ad network knowing in advance that you’ll cancel, more-so doing it as a part of a group of people where everyone is ripping the advertiser off, over and over across all offers, never generating a legit lead, is fraudulent and grounds for dismissal from a network. That is not incentive marketing.

Thanks everyone, for your input. It sounded like it could be something to give a try, but some of the TOS statements didn't sound qite right. After doing some Google research, I found it surprising as to where the offer came from.

Glad I checked here first. I know I can always get the best advice here.

I am not sure if this still applies based on previous posts from other members, but I have tried Incentive marketing before from a reputable training members website backed up by the BBB. I've made some money myself and the challenge of finding credible companies is already worked out.

Most of the incentive companies recommended in this place won't steal your referrals and WILL pay you as long as you refer other people and complete offers from your link. It's called going "Green".

THis is not a business model for everyone and I agree that you have to be very organized and develop a system for newbies to follow and learn effectively.

The important thing to keep in mind is to always look for offers that you would wanna try for yourself and then teach the same to other people.

    Just my two cents...
