Google won't show competing results on my PC

Good Morning fellow Warriors,

On my main PC Google no longer shows competing pages at the top when I do a simple search.

What button did I hit to make it omit that?

Anyone have any idea?

Thanks!

Ken

It's just a Dell PC and I've been using Chrome as my browser.

My laptop is the same brand and running Chrome and it shows there.

It was showing on my PC as of a few days ago but not now at all.

      Very strange!!

I noticed that last night, and I just checked and there's no
change. No competing pages. I tried looking for settings that
could make it appear but didn't find any.

I'm using IE 8. Wow, just checked with Fire fox and they're there!
But they're in a different place, just under the search field in
    smaller font than before.

    What is up with that?

For some time I didn't have competing results in Mozilla (right after this weird look-like-bing design change), now I get them but they are very small and appear below the search box

      That worked for me.

      Thanks

This may sound stupid but what is "Google competing results"? I don't think I have ever heard of it.

I think (??) they are referring to the bit where Google tells you the number of results. You know, something like "about 6,222,000 results".

It's meaningless anyway - if you take the time to click through you will usually find there are actually only a few hundred results. You get to page xx and suddenly Google tells you it has omitted the remaining 6,221,530 results as being similar to the ones already displayed. In other words they are just subpages of the first xxx sites.

dohhh - that looks like gobbledigook. I knew what I meant!
