Some questions, need expert opinion

Hello all, I have read good stuff about IM here and gained a lot but equally I have many doubts also. I am new to IM so dont be that harsh if I am asking a very basic thing or it is already answered a lot of times, please be supportive.

So for my case - I have started a new wordpress blog which is related to computer technology, help, guides, tutorials. I dont have any money objective as such, I want the blog to be as good as possible with high indexing and good PR. So here goes my questions. Thanks for your help in advance.

1. Are backlinks from forums and blogs count towards your backlinks total.

2. Is there a better software than Market Samurai.

3. I want to read complete keywords and backlink structure of few competitive sites. Which software is best for this.

4. If I create good backlinks and unique content, can I outrank my competitors and generate good traffic only from search engine.

5. Need some resource/links about how to create a good seo oriented and search engine loving content :-).

6. When I write a blog post, do I need to link that specific page when creating backlink or the domain.

7. Can I create separate backlink for each post on a forum or blog and will they be counted as several separate backlink or just a single back as they are coming from same domain.

8. Other than backlinks and contents, what else needs to be done to improve search engine ranking.

9. Any good software to help me keep track of my ranking (individual posts), backlinks, keyword ranking and similar stuff.

10. Should I only focus on building backlinks to specific posts or I should equally backlink the domain.

I think I have few more questions but first let me clear these doubts first.

Regards

I would start by finding related forums to your niche blog, create a catchy signature and post informative and helpful posts and people will visit. Social media marketing, Facebook & Twitter will work well with your niche.

Another great way is to comment on related blogs, again making sure they are useful and not spammy. Some blogs will be 'follow' but most you will find are 'nofollow'. Compile a list of 'follow' blogs and post as often as possible. 'nofollow' blogs will still be great for direct traffic from your link so keep tabs on them too.

    Okie dokie here we go:

    1. Yes

    2. Depends on what you're looking for. Market Samurai is great but to each their own.

    3. This requires research. A lot of research.

    4. It is very possible but it takes time. To get good search engine traffic you must constantly work on beating your competition. If you are new to the whole thing then your best bet is to leave that for a little later because it's hard for newbs to beat out their competitors in a niche as highly targeted as computer technology. A lot of these PRs will be 4 and up.

    5. Search for "learn SEO" on this forum and on google and you will find everything you could possibly need. SEO broken down and made simple is basically this:
Dog training would be highly targeted, break it down to how to train a dog to stop barking, and it won't be as highly targeted so you could easily dominate that micro niche. Do some research and then use your key phrase in your domain name, title, throughout the body and info, anchor links etc.

    6. After you post a blog you would direct people to what you want them to see. If you write a tutorial blog post you want people looking for exactly that to find exactly that. So if you want to direct someone to a specific page then yes, if you want them to see the whole page then domain.

    7. They will be separate. Many people use forums and blogs to create tons of backlinks. If they are categorized like your traffic reports then you'll see "X links - warrior forum"

    8. Updating your info. Don't let it go stale. Keep it updating whether it's manual or automatic. Advertising in more than one area. Getting people to leave feedback or testimonials. article marketing. Honestly the list goes on.

    9. SEO for firefox can show you that stuff on all SERP (search engine results page) Google analytics can show you more stuff again it's all about what you want.

    1. Backlinks from forums count and I actually used this strategy to build
up my blog's pagerank up to 2.

    2. There probably is, but Marketing Samurai is definitely in the top 5 (or even 3)

    3. Google keyword tool, wordtracker and marketing samurai

    4. Generating good backlinks to unique content is what SEO is all about

    5. Go around and read some blogs, such as SEO Blog | SEOmoz Blog Featuring Search Engine Marketing News & Tips

    6. Yes, you do need to create unique backlinks just for the post page. And linking in between posts will generate even more seo benefits for you

    7. No matter if it's the same domain-a backlink is a backlink. All it matters, that the domain will be of value for the search engines eg: pagerank

    8. Proper design and coding to ensure fast and safe indexing. Create a sitemap and submit your site to directories.

    9. SERP assist will have you do that.

    10. most of your backlink will go to the domain while supporting it with creating backlinks for the unique pages.
