Vacation + 1 on 1 coaching from six figure earner?

Hey I was thinking of this the other day thought I would post it to get some warriors thoughts.

Im a 6 figure a year earner. I was thinking instead of doing a coaching program which I have done in the past monthly membership etc.. And instead of doing a seminar/conference etc...

Why not do the following....

Go to YOUR city and meet you 1 on 1. For a full day plus an hour of followup. (And then some monthly webinars to keep up etc..)

So I would travel to where you live meet in a hotel conference room etc.. Teach you and guide you on internet marketing etc...

Charge would be $500 but you would make it out to a charity of MY choice. No monthly costs etc..

Anyway I would go around the country see it with my wife and kids as I make some money for my charity and you get coached.

Not saying I am doing it. Just thought it would be kind of neat to do for a few weeks/month. (Of course my expenses would be paid by my own business.)

Give me your thoughts would love to hear them.

    Really what do you have to lose?

    Do your thing, and if people want to sign up they will, and if they don't, you just have more time to spend with your family.

    I Would have to say this would be better than a great idea!! My big Question would be would one day really get someone started?? would you help set up a product and a web pg.? or teach how to promote your products.
    I Will tell you that I would be very interested in this idea. It would be helpful to have an idea what you could do in that day or maybe it would be different per client.

    But ONLY as they directly relate to your business.

    For example, if you fly to go to a business meeting, you may be able to deduct the cost of your ticket, but you would have a hard time deducting the tickets for your kids.

    If you go to Orlando and rent a car at the airport to go to your coaching session, you may be able to deduct that. BUT, if you use the same car to drive to Walt Disney World, you wouldn't be able to deduct that portion of it.

    I am not an accountant, and I'm guessing you're not either. So, I just wanted to clarify a few things for others who may think they can get a free ticket to world travel.

    Be careful! And seek advice from a qualified financial professional.

    I didn't mean my business expenses I mean my expenses food/hotel/gas etc.. I mean I would be paying that stuff out of my pocket from my own business that brings in me money. thanks for the feedback though all.

    it sounds like a good idea. it's just like squeezing a little work while you're on vacation (one day). you'd probably be doing work anyway since everything is web-based.

    First an established person would appreciate it because of the Vacation + 1 on 1 coaching from six figure earner. And It's a win win win for those that is established already and the donation. I appreciate you stepping up to the plate and doing this. I want to make it clear that it's not for me since I'm not established and I'm not complaining.

      Would it be like a seminar tour where you put the dates of the places you'll be on your website and people can come see/meet you for $500 a pop?

      ...or...

      Would it be a totally random thing where someone contacts you from Bangor, Maine so you and the kids and the wife take a trip, then someone contacts you from Great Falls, Montana and you pack up the kids and wife again and go?

      Of course I'd want a pre-screening via phone or Skype to make sure what you are teaching aligns with the path I want to take as a marketer.

        Thanks, Yeah it would be the 2nd. Basically open it up to X people who are wherever. If they are too far away for everyone else may have to pass on that person. Can be hundreds of miles is fine. But if one guy is in seattle and no one else is past the mississippi then probably wouldn't work out for that. We would be driving and seeing the country side.

        Yeah I would prescreen for sure. Figure out what they are looking for. Get a REAL idea from them rather then. "I want to make money" Basically showing you what works/worked for me showing you my niches the exact stuff I do. Now go do it. Have homework etc.. and then do monthly followups via a webinar.

    Since you've already reached a pretty nice level of success with your IM efforts, doing this one-on-one coaching would be a wonderful (and very effective) way of giving back, on top of affording you the opportunity to travel all over this summer, which I'm sure you were probably planning on doing anyway.

    The concept has merit, and is worth exploring in more detail. To be worth $500 to the recipient, you'd need to have a teaching plan in place. That means you'd have to screen applicants to make sure you have a good match between what you can teach and what they can and want to learn.

    I don't know what kind of marketing you do, but you'd want to ensure the person you're teaching has the basic skills needed to make the most of their opportunity. You wouldn't get far with them if you have to start with "copy and paste" instructions.

    What Dennis said.

    The concept is fine, but you definitely need to screen people first. If you're making your money doing Forex and I'm not interested in Forex then I'm wasting my time paying you to come visit me.

    On the other hand if my business is selling consulting and you have a great track record of doing the same to a higher level then it's a no brainer.

    I think matching your abilities to the requirements of the people is the key to making it work.

      Not necessarily true.

      That's why I made my post above.

      Anyone reading this should be VERY careful about any such deductions they claim on their taxes.

      That doesn't mean it isn't possible. But it's not as much of a free ride as it sounds.

      (Overall, I like the general idea, though)

    It's a good plan, but I would only do the coaching to someone that is qualified and resided in a city that I wanted to spend time in.

    But to take the opposing view, you might be able to help more people and still achieve the same goals doing something else. For instance, maybe you can help more people and make more money by staying put and working to develop your business. Then just donate the increased profits to charity. And travel without restriction anywhere you want maybe once every few weeks.
